Firstly i am reviewing DouangDeuane 2 Guesthouse, a backpacker version of the DD1 opposite. For a single room, it costs 40,000 kip, only 5-6 dolars, euros etc, yes really! But what is it like? I checked with some guys sitting outside and they gave the thumbs up, so i proceeded to reception. There was a long form to fill in,... More

Room clean, nice, big comfy bed and decent television too. Nice little balcony area. Full buffet breakfast included in the price too which had extensive choice and was pretty delicious. Good value for money. Great location. Downside, the unfriendly and unhelpful staff. After travelling through Laos and being astounded by the hospitality and kindness of the national people, we were... More

Stayed there for a night. Took the room because a few other places I visited before were fully booked and we were tired after a long overnight trip. Room was okay, fridge was old and dirty. Bathtub was really grubby, my girlfriend did not feel comfortable. Breakfast is not worth any extra penny: bad Chinese food and bad chemical orange... More

stayed here one night as we headed to Luang Prabang. We originally planned two nights but after one night we shortened our stay. The bed is rock hard, even for Asian standards. Our room on the second floor looked out onto their sister hotel which had outside tables with tourist who were up talking and drinking until about 2am, then... More

We found this an ideal spot to be in. The side street is full of coffee shops, restaurants, kiosks, bike hire vendors etc. and it is a wonderful centre of activity. At one end of the street - which is one way (although I am convinced that this is voluntary), the Mekong River (more correctly Van Khong in Laosian) flows,... More

This is the fourth time we'd stayed here. Certainly not a flash joint, however we've always found it to be clean. As other posters have said the location is good, two minute walk to the river and a variety of eating places to choose from. Having a bath is a real luxury, as a lot of places at this price... More

We stayed at Duang Duane Hotel for a night. We encounted two main problems. One minor the other major. The minor problem was, the floor in the room was dangerously slippery. Me and my partner slipped many times. If you are 60 or over or have small children, and you fell over on that hard floor, you might seriously hurt... More

We stayed at the Douang Deuane hotel, not to be confused with the Douang Deuane 2 Guesthouse over the road. We are travelling as a family of 5 and took two rooms (200k Kip each, including breakfast). They were spacious and clean and include air-conditioning, a fridge and a very good selection of TV channels. We arrived around midday having... More

Now I don't expect much for 80k as I'd heard Vientiane is a touch more expensive but this place was a bit of a let down! The room was very basic but on the face of it , it looked very clean, happy days! However after getting all checked in it became apparent that the room and hotel was far... More

The hotel is very basic but the location is near restaurants, the mekong river, etc.. The room feel is old, has an unpleasant smell to it. Air condition is old and noisy. Bed sheets and pillow case.... bring your own. Advise: Bring your own towel and toiletries. Don't drink the water they provide in a recycle plastic bottles. Come down... More
