Myself and my boyfriend stayed here in Aug and were pleasently suprised to find the rooma had air con which was greatly welcomed in the cambodian summer heat. The room we had was on the 4th floor and was very large with cable tv, hot water and air con. Outside the room however is an open air balcony and our... more

the staff here were not friendly at all and did not want to answer any of our questions or give us help. if you stay here you are on your own as far as information is concerned, so do all your research beforehand. the tuk tuk drive out the front called sammath is wonderful and will not try to rip... more

I really struggled to find a good budget place online in Phnom Penh, but decided to go with Bright Lotus despite some of the negative reviews. I didn't have any problems with receiving emails from the owner and checked in fine (although I did notice she'd written a note saying I'd be there by 3.30pm when I actually said 6pm!).... more

Unbeatable location. Good clean room and towels changed daily. Did manage to get a smile or two out of the staff, but it was not easy! Breakfast (not included in room price) not brilliant (how do they get the toast rock hard yet appearing like fresh bread?), but the western style one at The Rising Sun next door was (best... more

Very clean guesthouse, rooms cleaned every day. Splendid view from terrace and good location. Good restaurant with terrace. A lot of streetnoise. Most of staff cannot smile and looks uninteressed but can be helpful. After all a good place for staying, good value for money and very safe more

I found Bright Lotus a fine place to say, I had a room on the quieter side of the building for 3 nights, it is a great location and a good price. BUT, I am still waiting to hear back from the hotel for a reservation request next week (4/09). I arrive on a flight at midnight, I know well... more

After escaping from the Paragon Hotel, it was a relief to check into bright lotus, which was much cheaper. I had a lovely room on the roof, one window looking out to the riverside, the other window looking out to the national museum. It was quite noisy, but good value. The rest of my time in Phnom Penh I stayed... more

Same thing happened to me as the review below. I made a reservation for this hotel for January 2009. Jenny confirmed my reservation and told me everything was in order. Afterwards, I received another email stating that I had to confirm to her my reservation by email 2 to 3 days prior my arrival at the hotel, otherwise she would... more

I tried to e-mail the Bright Lotus Guest House to book a room for my stay in Phnom Penh, and at first received a cheerful reply stating the room rates and my options. They said I just needed to e-mail back in order to confirm the booking. So I e-mailed back saying that I wanted to go ahead with the... more

I checked email from across the street from Capitol Tours in Phnom Penh, I had an email from Bright Lotus, vague at best. So, reading all the reviews I decided to call the number. After I called, some one speaking Italian accent picked up and said there was room. I remember them saying "Si"", thinking that this was the owner,... more
