Was travelling to Baku and searched for a budget accommodation. Unfortunately, there is a number of expensive hotels but one can hardly find any hotel in 50-100 USD price range. Absheron was the only available option, centrally located. Reservation directly through the hotel was quite tricky as the staff was barely speaking English and when I asked for rates they started to explain me that prices depend on floor since different floors has different prices and level of comfort, ranging from 80 USD to 150 USD. In the end I found an alternative way to book online through local travel agency website (www.traveller.az) .
The hotel is big, 15 floors, Soviet style archutecture, just 5 minutes walking to boulevard, overlooks the Caspian sea and impressive magnificent building of Government House.
