We chose this hotel due to TA reviews and it was just what has been reported: nice rooms, helpful staff, disappointing egg dishes at breakfast. We had a nicely furnished room and appreciated having ADSL in the room for our laptop. I especially appreciated the iron and ironing board, and the two KIMONOS in the room (first time in our... more

The Orchid is a very small 3-star hotel in the middle of backpacker central in Hue. It has just 17 rooms and if you didn't know it was there, you'd probably miss it as you walked down the street. There are about 2 rooms per floor on the 8-floor hotel, the top level being two honeymoon suites. In the lobby,... more

First I want to comment on something a previous reviewer said about one night being enough in Hue because the citadel is all there is to do. That's ridiculous. We stayed for 8 nights and although the rain slowed everything down for us, we still didn't get to see all we wanted. The area is teeming with temples and tombs.... more

This was a fantastic hotel. The rooms were large and very comfortable; a computer in each room and rose petals on the beds!! The staff was wonderful and could not have been more welcoming. When our flight was cancelled due to bad weather they welcomed us back and found a room for my daughter and I. I hope I can... more

We stayed at this hotel for one night on our way from Hanoi to Hoi An last night. Most staff speak relatively good English and can't help you enough! We paid $35 for a superior room, which was amazing considering what we got for our money. The communal areas are a little dated but the rooms were impeccable. Deffo 4... more

Booked the hotel after reading nice reviews and looking a great pictures on the web... well, it was not the nicesest we'd seen in Vietnam. The hotel is quite old and needs renovation. Fortunately we'd booked an upgrade room, which looked so so.. Only good thing was that the room had a PC, however, for this leisure trip we did... more

We stayed 2 nights in the Orchid Hotel about 10 days after the typhoon and everything was great, no mould, no mess, no idea how they suffered! No superior rooms were available so they upgraded us to the Honeymoon suite - large lovely room, comfortable bed and pillows, spa bath (wasted on us!) and computer in room. A great luxury... more

We stayed for two nights in a family room, they managed to fit two extra beds in the room, in order fro us to stay with our two boys. We felt at home from the very beginning. Te staff is very helpfull and the reception managed to book a guide with 20 minutes Saturday afternoon. One morning we qounted 12... more

We were also 'locked in' at the Orchid hotel in Hue in September during typhoon 'Ketsana' and we cannot second enough all the comments by Beast88. We could not fault the hotel from the free pick up at the train station after spending the night on the train to immediately having our room available to us at 8.30am. The local... more
