We arrived late at night to be met with a fairly frosty reception rather than a cool towel and drink. Things got much better though. Our room, one of the Art Suites, was magnificent: big, airy and very stylish. We have never seen a bathroom with three marble steps up to a deep bath big enough for two. Although we... More

This is a very nice place away from the centre of Ho Chi Minh City. The booking went smoothly via emails. The place is superb and the view on the river is relaxing. The other side of the house has a big pleasant pool and a garden, and it was not crowded during the week end. The first room they... More

There are some wonderful things about this hotel - the staff is attentive and kind (great), the pool is perfect, and the view from the rooms of the river and the boats passing by is a wonderful calm. However, someone needs to shut this down for about two weeks and really bring it up to par. We rented there best... More

My partner and I stayed at Villa Song Saigon for five nights in April 2012. It is a gorgeous French-era colonial villa, in a quiet, wealthy residential neighbourhood (Thao Dien Ward, District 2) about 20 minutes drive from the centre of Ho Chi Minh City. In the front garden of the hotel is a swimming pool area with comfortable loungers... More

We stayed at the Villa Song for 7 nights. Really enjoyed the stay. We had a suite on the top floor with a great view of the Saigon River. The lounge room was an octagonal shape with a domed ceiling complete with 4 portholes for extra light. Really unusual and interesting, also had a huge comfortable red lounge to sit... More

We stayed here for 5 nights after a recommendation by a local. As we were travelling with our son we booked the suite which was beautiful. The room stretched from the river at one end to the pool on the other. A gorgeous free standing bath & plenty of amenities were provided. The fold out bed was extremely hard so... More

We stayed 3 nights with the family in this hotel 20minutes out of town. The authentic colonial atmosphere is still there but also the new amenities. The restaurant serves a elaborate Italian menu and a short Thai menu. The rooms spacious, the staff very helpful and the prices reasonable. Also in this 'expat' area there are enough (expat) restaurant to... More

My sister and I decided to escape dreary Hanoi for 3 nights in HCM. Due to the positive response on Trip Advisor we decided to book one night at Villa Song and two nights in a standard hostel (Saigon Mini 1). I booked via Bookings.com to stay on Monday night which came to £89 for a double standard room and... More

Our stay at Villa Saigon was marred by an incredibly badly designed shower that flooded out the bathroom each time we used it, forcing us to phone housekeeping to come and mop it up for us. It became very apparent that staff were aware of the problem and yet seem to be doing nothing to fix it. I don't know... More

So I'm not quite sure how to express how much I loved our stay at Thao Dien Village! My husband & I spent quite a bit of time debating whether we should stay at a hotel in the heart of Ho Chi Minh or stay in the outskirts at Thao Dien. I'm SO glad that we made the right choice...... More
