I just spent 5 nights at the Metropole in the Opera wing. I was somewhat disappointed with the place. The service, especially in the restaurant is very spotty. During breakfast for example the staff seemed disorganized and harried. Sometimes I was offered a basket of pastries and bread, sometimes not. Great hotel, we stayed in the old wing. Service is impeccable, really good gym and pool, and great location in Hanoi. Plus: breakfast at main dining room (le Beaulieu).
