Stopped here for 1 night after our boat trip got canceled... Pretty good rooms, spacious and clean. Good restaurant service and offering. Pool, gym, sauna, massage all undergoing maintenance. Location is a short walk from the main street.

We stayed at this hotel instead of overnight on the Halong Bay boating excursion. We were very happy that we made this choice. We were given a free upgrade to a bay-view, 9th floor suite. The hotel management went out of their way to ensure that we had transportation and everything we needed to follow our own itenerary. We even... More

We were booked to this hotel by our travel agent after our overnight boat trip was cancelled due to a strong wind. How I wish I would be back on the boat in the small but very nice room, with the very friendly staff. We were booked in a 'VIP' room (our guide's words), a huge apartment with 2 rooms,... More

It was an unlucky day. First we had to disembarque from our booked overnight sailing trip through the bay because of the strong wind and then we stranded at this hotel. Dinner Menu: don't ask because it's not worth mentioning it. Mass tourism obviously means that locals make every effort to forget how to cook their local food specialities. The... More

Three of us stayed in a family for four, with a large bathroom, a toilet and spacious kitchen. There are two balconies overseeing Halong Bay. We felt so relaxed. Staff at reception desk were very friendly and could speak English and Mandarin with us.

The hotel is located in the "tourist town" of Halong city, not the "local town". This is an area near the tourist boats jetty, where most of the hotels including Novotel, Halong Pearl and Saigon Halong are located. Most business here centered around the tourist with slightly higher priced restaurants, souvenir shops, water puppet theatre and night market. This area... More

I booked two rooms in Asean Halong Hotel for 2 nights, in Jan 2012. I must confess that even after reading the mostly positive reviews in this website, I was in for a pleasant surprise. Firstly, we were given two rooms on the tenth floor (highest floor) and the view of halong bay from the rooms was just awesome. The... More

The hotel is a bit overpriced considering what you get... Good points:- 1. Good of the Bay and cheaper than other bigger hotels overlooking the bay. 2. Rooms are well serviced with good selection of toiletries. 3. English speaking manager provided assistance with a day tour and taxi to Hanoi. 4. The included breakfast selection was good. Eggs (fried, scrambled... More

At $50 this hotel was an huge surprise with a massive 6 foot long jade carved boat and elaborately carved wood furniture in the entrance way.The manager was especially helpful and accommodating. The day after we left the area we call him for a phone number of a travel agent he recommended and he said we could for anything we... More

My friend and I stayed here for a few days in September. They had no twin rooms left so upgraded us to a family room where we had our own rooms with a huge bed each and shared a bathroom. The views from both our rooms were fantastic! The staff were more than willing to help with tours especially the... More
