This Waterpark has been remarketed as the 4 star Cat Ba Resort and Spa Hotel but it is far from that. It is still a Waterpark in every sense except the waterslides are dry. The standard rooms are very tired and the showers are mouldy and we refused to use them. The cups in the room were cracked and there were dirty plates left lying around in corridors. The restaurant is getting shabby and the buffet breakfast is poor and there are flies all over the food. The Spa only offers massages. But worst of all was the difficulty in getting to this hotel and Cat Ba island. Despite making several phone calls to the hotel we were redirected to the head office as the receptionist did not understand much English. The Head Office in Hanoi was unable to help us with information on how to get there. We then asked a travel agent to plan a route for us but she struggled to get the correct information andiwe ended up in a ferry port at the wrong end of the island.
