For the price paid this was a good hotel. The room was adequate and clean, the foyer is large and cool and furnished with lots of interesting olde worlde style furniture and comfy seating. The breakfast was a fairly standard hotel buffet breakfast. OK, but nothing to write home about! The coffee is good though! Once you get your bearings... More

Prince Hotel is an old Thai style hotel in the centre of town. Its old but well maintained with the option of AC. Rooms are big and clean with shower and tub and TV with lots of channels. Swimming pool is large and a good gathering place for international travellers. Everything is within walking distance.

I stayed here in total for 4 nights. I would stay here again, as Chiang Mai is an amazing place. But the hotel was very basic. The pool was nice, but the pool staff were very rude and even questioned whether I was actually a guest. The air conditioning was very loud, but at least there was some! Nothing special,... More

Stayed at this hotel a few nights as part of a GAdventures tour. The hotel is very old, and the signs of age are apparent. The lobby had a lot of character with old, carved wood furniture for sale. Don't touch the large gorilla, one of our cotravellers picked up the arm and a nest of mosquitoes came out. The... More

This Hotel has been going since the Vietnam war. Not much has been updated since then. The rooms are large and airy. The swimming pool is the star of the complex but the pool surrounding are in need of an update. A good cleaning of the pool furniture would help. There are lots of good restaurants and bars nearby.

We were very disappointed with this hotel, the location was not that good, close to few things but not walking distance. We were happy to find that our triple room had a double bed and two single beds, the room is very spacious, but everything is very old. The room was dark, and bathroom not so clean. The little fridge... More

stayed here for 4 nights whilst on a gap tour. Was meant to give trekking but decided not to, and the hotel made it very easy for us to stay in same room. Cost 1000 baht a night (about 20 pound). The rooms are massive. Beds nice and soft. Bathrooms could do with a clean or paint job but decent... More

Yes. Like an old shirt with the elbows worn, a button missing and perhaps some paint stains. It's comfortable and you are reluctant to discard it. The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are good and the hotel's location is fine - just outside the central moated city of Chiang Mai - a ten minute walk away.... More

Booked this dive After having read a favourable write up by David from the UK. What I would do now to get my hands around David's throat. The room is in need of refurb, no doubt, however the bathroom is disgraceful, which is not the age or dilapidation, it is the amount of grime in the sink and bath. Bleach... More
