The Karinthip offered good service, and a pleasant setting with rooms surrounding a nice pool. The location is good for walking to the sites. The rooms are simple and functional, and very clean. Thai beds in general are rather hard compared to American beds, just a generalization.

Pros: 1) Eggs for breakfast were delicious. 2) Location is good. 3) The communal areas were nice. Cons: 1) Not much choice for breakfast. 2) Staff were a little unhelpful e.g. they didn't book a taxi to the airport even though we had given a days notice. 3) Lots of mosquitoes.

The hotel is well located, 5 minutes-walk from the old city, with laundries and massage places in front the hotel. The rooms are big but very noisy, they were working very near our room and a kind of cock was singing..the whole night! (That's why I say "a kind of"). The towels were dirty several days, with brown and red spots.... More

The Hotel is well located, small and nice, clean, charming and you don’t feel to be in the middle of a city. The small pool located in the patio is surrounded by nice plants. The rooms are simple but functional and clean. The staff is polite and helpful. All in all I can highly recommend this Hotel.

Having stayed in an out-of-town hotel last time we visited Chiang Mai two years ago, my family were keen to stay much closer to the centre of the city on a return visit over the Xmas period 2012. The Karinthip suited us down to the ground, being close to shops, restaurants and temples in the Thapae Gate area of the... More

I stayed at Karinthip in early December for 5 days - I made my booking through Agoda and took advantage of a good price for a Deluxe room and then a Superior room. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable - cleaned daily and nice touches with the tissue box and the toilet roll!!! Staff were generally friendly and helpful.... More

Hotel with beautiful surrounding. Something like garden around the swimming pool. Nice and friendly staff in the hotel. We were in very stylish room. Good for families with children but also for a romantic trip. The only problem was the restaurant, that seams to be closed all the time and we had to look for some other place in the... More

We chanced upon this hotel and loved it at first site. Like many Chiang Mai hotels the access is from a side road with no character but once you are inside the grounds it is amazing - you cannot even guess that you are in the middle of a city - not a single city sound, just birds, lush garden,... This is down a dodgy back road.. Nothin surprising there this is common.. It's a cute little place loads of green like a secret garden. However our room was very old fashioned the safe didn't work the air con was loud and then didn't work. Our bathroom was a dive n then the water was freezing.. We asked them to... More

I was a bit worried about this place after reading some of the recent reviews. We stayed here early June (family of five including 11 & 8 yr old boys). Not sure we had massive expectations and so in the end we weren't let down. The location is great, close to things but an oasis of peace. The pool is... More
