Having stayed at the PornPing a few times as part of an annual group event and having read some of the other reviews, I have to say that the price/value is not that bad. Yes - the hotel is very, very dated and the towels are quite thin but it is in the heart of the Night Market, the staff... More

I would like to recommend that you all avoid this hotel at all costs. This is a bit of a speil, as you need to know why you shouldn't go there! I booked this hotel through a reliable booking website that I have used many times, however when I arrived in Chiang Mai the hotel had no record of my... More

Stayed here for 3 nights. Room is quite dated yet clean, bed is comfortable, we have good sleep though. I like its location as the night bazaar is within walking distance. The breakfast is good with plenty of choices, but you have to go before 7:30am or you won't be able to get a table especially during their public holiday.... More

The staff at this hotel are rude, very rude. It does not make for a pleaseant experience when you feel as if you are inconveniencing someone when checking in or asking for the internet password. The decor is also very outdated and not at all as is shown on the website photographs. There is a cockraoch problem. Avoid this hotel... More

Be warned! This hotel is not what it is talked up to be. To begin with the advertising on the website is very out of date - the photos don't reflect the current condition of the rooms (which are worn down, dirty and have electrical wire sticking out left, right and centre). My partner and I booked into a Junior... More

What an outdated time warp. Arrived excited and looking forward to our Chiang Mai stay. We handed over our Internet booking sheet only to get a vague and stalling response from the reception guy. (Third time this has happened in Asia!) Our booking was supposedly non existent and were therefore sent to a room below what was booked. The whole... More

Have stayed in this hotel many times over the years. It is a bit worn, but very conveniently located and the staff is experienced and professional. But small things have gradually changed for the worse. Hours without hot water in the bathroom, no longer English language newspapers in the lobby, fewer items at the breakfast buffet. It is still reasonably... More

To sum it up: Hotel - old, outdated and smelly Room - old, outdated, smelly, torn carpet, broken cabinet draw, dirty bathroom Buffet breakfast- cold Staff - not helpful in the slightest (could not even manage directions to the closest 7 11 for a bottled water run. Turns out was less than five minutes and required one left and right... More

Overall, enjoyed my time at the hotel. It was convenient having the market right next door. Other sites in the town are too far away.

Arrived after a 15.5 hour train journey to be shown (by a really nice bag guy) to our twin room. We booked a non smoking double. They said there was nothing else so I went to reception and the chap came up with another room with a double. We went to our new room and it stank of cigarettes! We... More
