I've read all the review and seen the pictures, but the subtleness and the uniqueness of OBI still surprised me. I loved the indivually decorated rooms, loved the personal attentions from all the hotel staff. Loved the available breakfast items, and loved Tong who guided us through Bangkok as well. We only had two nights in Bangkok but the Old Bangkok Inn was a very good base for an exploration of the cities highlights. Good restaurants such as the 'Hemlocks' but also the grand palace and the wats along the river are within walking distance unless you are one of these lazy folks. The Old Bangkok Inn's rooms and lobby are beautiful. (We stayed in one of the Rice rooms.) One thing to point out is that the bathroom has a curtain instead of a door, and a portion of the bathroom wall is constructed out of semi-transparent glass blocks.
