Sala Arun is a nice little hotel located between the river and Wat Pho. Here are my observations: Positives: 1. The suite on the top floor has one of the best views in Bangkok. The large balcony over looking the river is THE place to be during sunset and early evening. 2. The staff was very helpful and arranged a... More

This hotel is a gem, primarily because of its location, facilities, service and price. The location is ideal - right on the river looking across to the Wat Arun temple that shines gold at night. The Royal Palace and several more temples lie behind the hotel. All are in easy walking/ferry distance, as are some excellent places to eat, all... More

We stayed at the Sala Arun at the beginning and end of our recent trip to Asia. The location is perfect for exploring the historical palaces and Wat Pho. Rooms are spacious and lovely; we had a deck over looking the river and it was absolutely idyllic. The proprietor could not have been more helpful or accomodating. I would definitely... More

I stayed here in late January 2012. I tried to make a reservation at Arun Residence, but they were full, so they referred me to Sala Arun. I was a bit apprehensive because it was not in any of the guidebooks I bought, and did not have very many reviews on Tripadvisor. However, I was extremely happy with the hotel.... More

I stayed here for two nights in January, 2012, and should have stayed longer. As the other reviews have mentioned, this is a small hotel with maybe 7 rooms. The rooms are beautifully appointed and spotless. The inn is just over a year old. I was fortunate to stay in the Sala Suite on the top (4th) floor, with a... More

We made our booking on the Arun Residence website and after exchanging email messages and phone calls were given to believe that we would be staying at the Residence. Imagin our surprise when we were told politely that we had, in fact been booked into Sala Arun, their neighbouring boutique property. Thats certainly one thing we would suggest that future... More

We stayed here for a couple of nights as a treat after three weeks travelling in Cambodia. The room which we had - The Lana - was great, especially at night when we sat on the balcony overlooking the river and Wat Arun. I found it interesting early in the morning too, having a coffee while watching an enormous fish... More

We had originally booked Arun residence but changed plans due to the Bangkok flood situation and rooms were booked out there so we stayed at Sala Arun. We were pleasantly surprised and would choose to stay at Sala Arun again. This is an interesting area with a mix of Chinese stores and back alleys at the front door and an... More

We had a nice room with a view and the service was polite and helpful. It was quaint with a great location in the old city (if you're there to see the sights vs party). It was a little pricey by Bangkok standards (for what we got), but we were on our honeymoon and it fit the bill nicely.
