Just about ideal for backpackers. Yes it's big and maybe somewhat impersonal as some reviewers have mentioned but really that depends more on you and the other patrons. Laundry facilities are excellent and cheap. Unlike most hostels I've stayed in the food at Saphaipae is actually better and cheaper than the surrounding restaurants. Coffee bar, smoothie bar, internet, lounge area... More

No doubt the best place me and my boyfriend have stayed at on our 3 months backpacker journey through Asia! Real clean beds, restrooms, rooms/dorms and common areas. The staff in the reception were friendly and helpful. Close to skytrain station (about 5 min walk) and close to supermarkets as well. Nice with pool tables, computers, and big lockers where... More

Clean, with excelent facilities, full array of services, and great food. Being a modern backpacker hostel, Saphaipae has comfortable beds, the place is extremely clean, and HUGE. It has all kinds of amenities: movie room, wireless internet access, modern capable all-in-one PCs, nice employees, big public bathrooms, good food with fair prices, pool tables, travel guides and maps, and so... Stayed here 4 nights in 8 bunk beds ladies room. It was my first time to sleep well in hostel because it's quiet. Aircond works well, the most I like is the very very big locker. Only thing to complait is the room is very very dark at night. Not able to pack anything at night. Very spacious washroom, Around... More

My husband and i visited bangkok right after weeks in india. Thailand and the saphaipae hostel were such a welcome reprieve!! We paid a little extra and rented our own room and shower, and felt like we were in a luxurious hotel. The room itself was huge, as was the bathroom and shower. The a/c and hot water never ran... Final stop for me was Bangkok before heading homeward. And staying here after staying in so many s**tholes was well worth it. The facilities are great the staff are nice and friendly. Especially those cleaning ladies helping me. Anyways it's not bad, it's close to the skyline about 8 minute walk.

The double rooms were very spacious and the beds were comfy. The bathrooms were modern and stylish and had a huge double shower. Free internet was good. It is very convieniently located - right near the Skybar (as featured in Hangover 2) and is only a short walk away from the BTS. They also give you free water and toiletiries... More

This place is located near the sky train and ferry pier which is a very good plus in Bangkok. The deluxe rooms are clean and have all the amenities. Staff is friendly and speaks English. Internet is free and restaurant food is good.
