Overall the hotel was pretty clean and had little issues there. It was not bad, but was not great either. I would not stay here again unless there were no other options. At night it was loud and hard to sleep, but typical for the area I think. I never really felt comfortable there. My only real complaint is the... More

Among many hotels that I stayed in Kathmandu; Blue Horizon was one of them. It was recommended by some travelers in TripAdvisor, Lonely Planet Guides books, travel magazines etc but the hotel as poor furnished rooms. Staffs are friendly and co-operating but I hated my room. It was old house, AC not working and broken lock in the door. The... More

For the price, the hotel is excellent, clean, and value for money. It's in a great location, off of the main road, away from the noise. It's still centrally located. I've made good friends from this place, who I am still in contact with. The staff are awesome, and went out on adventures with me in their own time! Very... More

I stayed four nights at Hotel Blue Horizon. I must say it was the best time, better than I could of imagined. The management arranged all siteseeing, tours, and a two day trek at a nearby national park in the Kathmandu Valley, as well as arrangements in Chitwan and Pokhara. I got to see all the famous sites, including the... More

Low cost = low expectations-- That's an adage travelers have to live by. Money minded folks run this hotel. Be sure to book it online or risk being overcharged at the hotel itself (USD40 vs USD50). Generally clean, with hot showers and a nice garden in range of decent Wi-Fi. However, if you want room service, do remember to leave... More

All things considered, this hotel was not bad. We stayed there two nights. It was very close to Thamel district and our room was comfortable. It was cheap and centrally located so that's all we really wanted. Electricity kept going in and out and don't expect to get your room cleaned while you're staying there. Window in the bathroom just... More

good location, really closed to Thamel, and far away from noise. rooms are in the average, a little big expensive for what you have. And people at reception welcome you at all times, but all they want , it is money from you by taking their taxis, their packages. If you do not want , they really show you and... More

Hotel is a little more quiet than being in the middle of Thamel, and it is only maybe 200 meters from Thamel. Courtyard is nice, except of course the rooms all surround it and people talking at night are an annoyance, as are the mosquitos in the courtyard after dark. Wifi is only in the courtyard and rooms very close... More

This is my 2nd visit to Kathmandu and 5th to Nepal and after reading the review of this particular hotel, I thought it to be a great choice. I was wrong! Although the hotel was in a good location, away from the madness, it was down a dimly lit road, which was very uneven. When in the hotel, we were... More
