I stayed at Hotel Florid in July 2010 and paid 300 rupees per night. I was 19 (lone female traveller) and I found the hotel to be really safe and friendly throughout my stay. I went to Pokhara and they happily looked after my luggage in the storage room which was padlocked and my bags were safe and sound throughout... More

We stayed there for two weeks because of health problem. The staff was very kind with us. We could borrow some books. It is located in Thamel, the touristic area of Kathamdu. This hotel has its own restaurant in a small garden. The food is good especially the breakfast set. We had a spacious room in the third floor with... More

We used this as our base whilst in Nepal. The staff were very accomodating in holding our excess luggage and always held a room for us upon arrival. The food is delicious in the amazing garden which allows you to escape from the busy and at times, overwhelming streets of Kathmandu. We had the deluxe room which was sizable and... More

We used this hotel as our base during our time in Kathmandu. We came back here a couple of times after leaving Kathmandu to go elsewhere. The biggest pluses were the hard working and friendly staff, and relaxing garden restaurant out the back, which was a wonderful place to get away from the noise and bustle of Thamel. The food... The owners are very friendly, I liked them very much. I had a room for 8 USD/night, but including bathroom, television and wireless. What do you want more, in Kathmandu? Breakfast in their garden can be very nice, not many hotels in Kathmandu have their own quiet garden.

Great location and good value for money. We paid 600 Rupees for a double room with private bathroom. Unfortunately the warm showers were lacking which is rather cold in December. But otherwise a good pick for budget travellers.

This was my 3rd visit to Kathmandu and the 6th time for my wife but the first time together, as you can imagine we have stayed in many hostels and guest houses around the city and this one is by far the best! Right in the heart of Tamil yet away from the noise as the hotel is located in... More

This was a perfect litle hotel, or maybe more like a guest house as the room itself was relatively small. For a twin room we paid 300 nepali rupees. We had our own bathroom with lukewarm water (sometimes hot!), a nice satellite tv, and even a balcony shared with one other room. I did notice that not all the rooms... More
