The staff was excellent, the hotel very clean and the room amenities good. The hallways and the way to the rooms was a little funky.
It's located centrally near a nice shopping area and some restaurants. I would definitely stay there again.

This is a heritage hotel, full of charm, good central location. The gardens are an oasis of calm, the swimming pool is very clean and inviting. The staff are very helpful. Generator always kicked in immediately when frequent power outages occured. Plenty of hot water. Food o.k. but definately need a more varied dinner menu.

Stayed twice at the hotel, first time in older character rooms (although one of the rooms noisy from outside music), second time in newer renovated rooms, tidy, clean and comfortable. Staff friendly but gave me impression of waiting around for tips. Disappointed with buffet breakfast choice esp cereals. Recommended if looking for a unique hotel rather than the chains/groups.

I stayed in Shanker Hotel on my first trip to Nepal! out side the hotel was really really busy ... I felt very safe to stay there though. The hotel itself was really clean! My favourite part of the day was sitting in the garden reading a book and ofcause a cup of coffee!! (I went there during winter time)...
