On our recent trip to India,Nepal and Tibet we stayed at the Thamel Eco Resort three times. This was one of our favourite hotels on the whole trip. Nothing fancy, but very comfortable and clean. The breakfast, which is included, was fabulous with lots of selection. Very friendly staff and a very convenient location in the Thamel district. The hotel... More

We stayed here on three occassions over three weeks, once that we booked ourselves and twice by the tour trekking company. The first room we got is 104. DO NOT stay in that room or the ones on either side. It is right by the bar, and people sit outside your room talking and drinking, as there is little seating... More

I thought the Thamel Eco Resort was a good accomodation for my trips in and out of Thamel. During my visit to Nepal, I landed at the Thamel Eco Resort three different times and each time the room was VERY different, which is why it is difficult to rate the property. My first room was a 5 out of 5--... More

The hotel was fine - rooms were clean, decent beds. Bathrooms were just a shower onto the floor and toilet which I hate. But it was the worst night ever as there were dogs barking non-stop down in the courtyard. One would think the night staff would try to keep them out so that guests could get a decent night... More

We stayed here as part of our Earthbound Expeditions EBC trek and were very happy with the service, the rooms and the breakfast. It's situated right in the heart of Thamel which is excellent if this is your first time to Kathmandu as it's cleaner and more well lit than the rest of Kathmandu and easier to navigate. For Kathmandu... More

This hotel is very well located in Kathmandu and the staff are just lovely. Nothing is too much trouble, smiles are premanently fixed on their faces and a big interest in the guests movements and needs make hotel a sort of home away from home. It's clean, beds are very comfortable and meals are lovely. If you score a room... More

Pros: comfortable beds/rooms, helpful staff, clean, lovely courtyard, buffet food is fine, location in the midst of Thamel. Excellent Tibetan Cafe 2 doors down. Concierge will arrange for massage etc. Flushing western toilets, and filtered water available throughout the day. This was a very comfortable hotel to stay at after a trek, and is as western as I experienced in... More

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights in April 2012. We were on a trekking tour and had booked 2 additional nights prior to the start of our trip. The night we arrived, we were delayed several hours in Hong Kong. At about 2 am, we arrived and were picked up in a mini van arranged by the... More

Thamel Eco Resort is located in the heart of Kathmandu. I indicated the Hotel to few people already but apparently it was fully booked so if you are planning to go for this Hotel is better check the availability as soon as possible. The room was quite big and clean. I was not expecting such a good room for the... More

Things I liked about this hotel were the central garden, kind staff, walking distance to restaurants and posted power outage schedule. It made our stay in Kathmandu more manageable than it otherwise would have been. Kathmandu is an adventure!
