We stayed at the Ambassador Garden Home during a quick weekend trip to Kathmandu from Delhi. Booking was a big difficult, which is the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5. I ended up booking through a third-party rather than directly through the hotel. That said, it was worth it in the end - the hotel itself was... More

I stayed with my friend in this hotel which is quite nice and clean hotel in the centre of Thamel market. The room is spacious and simply decorated in nepali style. We can use internet in lobby area without giving any charge. The staff was friendly and they helped us to manage everything. I will certainly recommend staying here minimum... More

We have stayed four nights in this very nice hotel which is conveniently located in the heart of bustling Thamel. The owners had completely renovated the former guesthouse from top to bottom offering 18 nicely decorated rooms. The small little terrace garden in the courtyard offers great local food specialities, the whole day long, and is a great and tranquille... More

What a surprise to find this small hotel in the heart of Thamel. A nice quiet garden and lobby area that gives you a respite from the craziness of Katmandu. Rooms include air conditioning Refrig stocked with water, beer, and juices for free, free wifi in your room that works, and a fabulous breakfast. The staff are incredibly helpful and... More

in the center of the Thamel, very clean and calm, though quite expensive ($120 for a couple, where you can easily find a bit less apoiling one for $30 a night). Good breakfast, very nice and understanding service, very good location. We got to know about this hotel via the tripsadvisor, and will keep up recommending it for the next... More

Extremely disappointed with booking service. Attempted to book online on Monday. By Friday, still haven't received confirmation, despite sending 4 emails and calling another 4 times. Unknown whether I will receive any sort of confirmation..

Located in the heart of backpacker central, the Ambassador Garden Home is quite nice. By international standards, the rooms are okay but by Nepali standards, I'm sure the AGH is considered extremely nice. Beds are extremely hard, but I liked the beds. Bathrooms are sufficient, too. What I learned to appreciate in Kathmandu is the backup generator & cache of... More

This is a great spot to stay, particularly after spending time in tea houses on treks. The quiet little courtyard brings some peace and tranquility during the day from the hustle and bustle of the Thamel streetscape. Clean, good facilities, friendly staff, bottled water in the hotel room are among the pluses of this hotel, and the banana pancakes for... More

I stayed at the Ambassador twice in April, I had booked it on the strength of the tripadvisor review, and was not disappointed. Situated in the hear of bustlingThamel, a little oasis of calm in the mayhem. We were welcomed back warmly by the staff, who did everything they could to make our stay as easy as possible, including getting... More

We stayed at the Ambassador Garden Home for four nights. Overall, this is an excellent hotel and we had a nice time. Remembering where you are will go a long way toward having an enjoyable stay…you have to roll with the punches. I am a hotel veteran. I have stayed ever where from the Burj in Dubia to the Hilton...
