Basically there are hundreds of hotels, guest house etc in Thamel and as the turnover of backpackers is quick sometimes the standards are what they are. Thamel is full of gore tex package holiday makers aswell as the pack-packers that just came over the border from India,to the retired, loaded ,Europeans in their florescent 300euro anoraks the conditions might be insulting... We booked this hotel for three nights and immediately regretted it when we got there. We paid $12 for a room and it was just disgusting. The toilet was basically unusual because it was so filthy and the bathroom was covered in mould. The curtains are white and our room was on the street side with a bright neon sign... More

We've stayed in a couple of different hotels in Kathmandu. This is a good value hotel with clean room, very trekkers friendly. Hotel owner and staff are very nice and helpful, even let us use their office computer for internet for free. Will stay there again.

I would not recommend this hotel. I've stayed at different hotels in KTM, but this hotel was among the worsts hotels in KTM. The hotelowner and the manager have tried everything to fool me and my friends about the room rates. They have charged us a lot more when we were checking out. They have also attempted to fool us... Staying at Hotel Visit Nepal turned out to be a great meeting point, hang out spot for backpackers. Very friendly, helpful and funny staff (Basu is really helpful and you can count on him every time). I was there 3 times between mid April to end of May and you can trust them to leave your luggage there while you... More

I stayed there about two weeks. There is wifi 24h, hot shower when the sun show up, a nice and busy roof-top with a kitchen, and the rooms are good. The people of the hotel where really kind, and helped us a lot with bike renting, flight booking ... They are really honest, and are not only looking for your... More

Hello, I'm in Kathmandu for more than one month now and, after trying a couple of other Hotels, Visit Nepal has become my "base camp" in town. Rooms are clean, with lots of natural light, and the location is just great: Z-Street, heart of Thamel but still not too noisy. Relation quality/price is also pretty good: for a single room... More

Good location, on quiet side street of Thamel, a couple minutes walk from all the bars and action. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Free baggage storage for those little getaways to the Kathmandu Valley. Clean rooms, clean linens, AND towel included. Hot water after the power has been on for a couple of hours or during the peak of... More

Hotel Visit Nepal has been my home for the past month in Kathmandu, and I'm just so glad we stumbled across it. The rooms are secure and clean, and the hotel is located in a safe, quiet side street right in the middle of the Thamel area. The staff are very friendly and hospitable, and are always as helpful as... More

For the price, the hotel is a good option. The staff is friendly and the hotel owner is eager to help in all travel related matters.
