Small, modern, good facilities, including business and massage, good staff, view of rubbish dump from bedroom offputting though and noisy dogs. Food, as usual, lukewarm and beer too!

Stayed in Jumolhari Hotel in 2006 when it was new and it was a good experience.
Stayed again in February 2012 and it was dissapointing. The bathrooms are in need of refurbishment. Both shower and sink taps were practically falling off. Very little hot water - had to run the taps for almost 10 mins before it become bearable, not...

We had a clean, updated, bright room with comfortable beds and bedding. Nice bathroom, too. The Wifi didn't work, and the food was so so, but the service in the restaurant was very accommodating and concerned. The street noise was a little loud, but abated later in the evening. Overall a good experience, comfortable and convenient.

The hotel bills itself as a boutique hotels and triggers expectations it can not meet. It's just a normal hotel in the center of Thimpu.
The staff is not attentive at all and did not care whether hotel guests were OK after an earthquake one night.
The Indian food is enjoyable. Breakfast and local food are uneatable. There are other...

This is a cute and well run hotel. The rooms are good size, clean, and renovated, not run-down. I was here for 2 nights in Jan 2012, and in both cases, the room heaters were very effective. The wifi is solid, unless you get a room on the 3rd floor - the second time, my room was on the 3rd...

The Jumolhari Hotel claims to be a "boutique hotel." If you come from the States or Europe, you probably have a very clear idea of what a boutique hotel is. This is not a boutique hotel. This is the equivalent of staying in a really old, not very nice Holiday Inn Express or average-grade motel. There's nothing unique or charming...

Best described as a scruffy Premier Inn. We had a 'de-luxe' room - it was small, featureless, and generally scruffy but not dirty, no way was it 'de-luxe'.
The window overlooked a piece of trash laden waste land which was the meeting place for stray barking dogs from about 11:00pm!
The food was dreadful - I ordered Steak Chasseur was...

This hotel benefits from a central location just off clock tower square, providing a great opportunity for wandering the streets of Thimphu. The rooms are on the small size, but had all necessary amenities. Like a previous reviewer our room smelled of smoking; however it was clean.
The staff were very friendly and the lady on reception was able to...

The room we had was small, cramped in fact, darkly lit, and old, but clean. The beds were good. The hotel staff was super friendly, though did not know much. The restaurant is OK, though far below the very positive words you find in some of the guidebooks. Don't expect a very holiday-like environment, but an efficient stay in the...

Average hotel in most regards, though has a good central location. Had to change rooms as the first one had a very strong smoke smell despite smoking being officially banned in Bhutan! The rooms were comfortable and had all I needed. I ate a couple of continental food meals and these were good. Breakfast was poor, whether cereal, toast or...
