We stayed here for 1 night in November 2012. The hotel has very comfortable rooms which are spotlessly clean. The restaraunt food was good and service was fine. We did not notice any problems with barking dogs at night. I think this is an excellent choice for a central Thimpu hotel which is covered under the normal Bhutanese tourist allocation.

The Galinka hotel is right in the middle of Thimpu. Great location but it has the same issue as all the hotels in the middle of town - and that is night noise. In particular barking dogs. rooms are of good size, practically furnished and clean; bathroom with running hot water has nothing to complain; food served in the hotel and the overall service is quite decent. located in a central area of the city it is equally good for family and business trips.

Arrived at the Hotel Galingkha after a flight from Nepal. Room was spacious, but overlooked the traffic circle in town. This also meant overlooking a tin shack with horrible living conditions and noise at night. Asked for a higher floor, but "not available". But we never really saw more than 4 or 5 other couples.
