This is the first time that I have read other reviews before posting my own. My experience varies from a lot of the others but there is a reason for that, I stayed as a corporate guest with rooms that are pre booked so they have to look after us reasonably well. There are some good staff in this hotel... More

Mainland Chinese owned and managed. Check in - At Midnight, but the Reception staff was efficient. Had to pay a USD200 cash deposit so be ready for this Housekeeping staff - They are also good. The maid was willing to get the vacuum cleaner and vacuum the rug. The room was clean enough. Room - Nicely appointed with good lighting.... More

The Bintumani is a decent hotel in Freetown. Location is near the beach, it is clean, rooms are big. I was upgraded to the apartment. The pool area is nice. Breakfast was a bit off, but generally I was pleased with the hotel and it was excellent value. The internet access was generally too slow to be able to work,... More

I have arrived Freetown after being harass and bugged by the horrible airport workers every one experiences once getting in SL. that only thing i could have thought about was a bed with a working AC. The Bintumani services is the worst in the world from start to end. the smelly rooms are with the most uncomfortable beds and the... More

The location is good, although in rush hour, the trip into the city can easily take over an hour if you don't leave before 7.30am. Breakfast is truly lousy - poor food, bad service and a miserable room. The staff try their best - but there needs to be further investment in training. The room was fine, my room had... More

Hotels change. This one was never wonderful but it was okay by Freetown standards. Not now. The Chinese are carrying out a lot of contracts, especially road-building contracts, in Sierra Leone and they have bought this hotel to use as a hostel for their Chinese labourers. Of course, they don't say so when some European innocent emails them for a... More

I also review Country lodge, Family Kingdom and Taia. Bitumani is a chinese hotel. Excellent location for helipad and waterboats. Good views from rooms. Rooms are the best thing about hotel. Probably the best rooms in Freetown, although the beds are rock hard. Pool was also very good. Restaurant was pretty much all Chinese style, which could get a bit... More

Chinese company with management contract has stripped what was the best hotel in town bare. Wanted to pay all our accommodation costs up front in cash. Rooms bare - no toiletaries. Extremely expensive for what it is. Staff trying their best but only go if you are nostalgic for holiday hotels from the communist era in central/eastern Europe...
