The Umobano was a pleasant hotel, which obviously served a mix of business and tourist guests. I ended up with a suite to my suprise, which was very reasonable in size. I suspect even an ordinary room would be sufficient in size for most people's tastes. The rooms did not have air conditioning, but did have a fan, and mosquito... More

I've stayed in this hotel once a year (for about 2 weeks on average) for the past 4 years so I speak from experience when I say I was pleasantly surprised during this latest visit. The rooms and furnishings still need major upgrading as do the bathrooms. They also need to put in airconditioning in the rooms instead of a... More

The hotel is called the Umubano, but is also known as the Laico and Novotel. The hotel is a little tired as the former manager did not renovate as promised. It has a nice pool, tennis courts and a gym. The food is average for Kigali. The bed is large, but the rooms need renovating. A nice view from the... More

I stayed for a week at this hotel. It presents itself as a 4 star hotel so I was surprised to find my room lacked airconditioning and the furniture was reasonably worn. Given the price paid it was poor value. The pool, gardens, restaurant and tennis court are very good which made up for the room. Next time I will... More

I stayed here for 5 nights recently. O.k they forgot to pick me up from the airport but they credited me back for the fare so no problems. I stayed in a higher floor so no noise problems. The staff are super friendly and I would say as with rest of Rwanda with a very chilled attitude so expect slower... More

AVOID THIS PLACE there are better options in the city. Main problems faced: 1. No air-conditioning 2. Terrible service 3. Worst food ever 4. A colleague of mine had fleas in the bed 5. A lot of mosquito in the room for which you need to sleep inside a net 6. Hotel is under construction work so expect noise, dust,... More

I picked this hotel out of the blue, and was suspicious as rates were far less than the other hotels in the area. This is a wonderful place and found no problems whatsoever. It is in a great area. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. It is an older hotel, most likely state owned from past, but well maintained. Has... More

This hotel is great if you (like us) have had a long drive and just want to get out and do stuff. Tennis, swimming, football, vollyball - you it they have the facilities. Rooms are a good size and clean, breakfast is ok - a bit tired looking but lots of choice and staff are reasonably helpful so all in... More

We stayed here two different nights recently and found it to be a reasonable, clean place. There is no AC, but supposedly the hotel will be adding it to guest rooms in the next few months. In the meantime, you can leave your balcony sliding door open and use the provided fan at night and it is comfortable enough. Mosquito... More

Upon first arriving at the hotel, I noticed the rather weathered exterior and thought, "oh boy, this is not gonna be good". But once I entered the lobby, I noticed the interior had obviously undergone a renovation and was quite slick. The reception was friendly enough but be warned, they had not received confirmation of my payment through Expedia and... More
