the Iris Guesthouse is tucked away on a quiet street so it is really peaceful. The rooms are small and clean and there is lots of hot water. I really liked the sitting area outside the room where you could use the WiFi and relax. The restaurant was good and pretty decent value. All of the staff we met were... More

Lovely garden, smallish rooms but good bathrooms and ok restaurant. Can't go wrong for a few nights here. Clean with wifi, tv and close to the city centre.

We stayed at Iris Guesthouse for 2 nights en route to a volunteer experience in the Rwandan countryside. It is a nice choice for a short stay. Kigali is surprisingly expensive, and Iris is a decent choice for the price. The rooms are basic and quite small, but the grounds are pretty, and the restaurant has a good menu and... More

This reasonably priced hotel is great for those staying in Kigali for a few days - I work for an NGO and there's a good reason many NGOs put their visitors in here. It's clean, safe & comfortable but also reasonably priced - certainly far cheaper than the likes of Milles Collines (whcih is fantastic but then at that price... More

Unless you are splurging, this is definitely a great choice in Kigali. I've stayed here more than 6 times over the last 5 years. The Iris Guesthouse is great value. Friendly, helpful staff and simple, clean rooms on 2 floors that surround a fragrant garden and patio dining area. Located in a lovely, hilltop, upscale residential neighbourhood, only minutes from... More

I always enjoyed my stays at Iris! Yes, it's not the most swanky, updated modern hotel, but it's good value gem in overpriced Kigali, with comfy double beds, immense outdoor balcony spaces, interminable hot water, free breakfast and free WIFI.. It's nicely located in the center, yet on a quiet street. The garden setting is nice, as it the on-site... More

Africa has a massive shortage of decent mid-range options when it comes to accommodation. When traveling, I either pay $100+ for somewhere nice or pay $10 and camp. There really isn't much to shout about in the middle. This place is a typical example. It's $75 per night so just about scrapes into mid-range. On the down side: the rooms... More

I’m not so sure why so many people recommend this place. I visited with a friend who I would have shared a bed with. We arrived a bit exhausted from a long bus ride and where given a room that can only be described as a storage room. There was a double bed, a single bed, a wardrobe, a bedside... More

Stayed several days, and enjoyed the convenient location. Staff is slow, not too concerned with making things work on time, despite western hotel prices. That said, it's not bad considering the options. The Internet did not work, so be aware.
