Just got back from Laico atlantic in Banjul, this is my first time to the gambia, all the staff at the hotel were very helpful even the locals were helpful. My only complaint was that the room I was allocated on my arrival was very dark and I was facing the gardens which made it a haven in my room... More

Recently returned. Thoroughly enjoyed! Would definitely go again! Stayed on half board basis, food was varied and plentiful.....Just one tip - don't upgrade to all inclusive (Rip Off!). We drank at Beanzy's Juice Bar, it's the first juice bar on the left after the hotel, Kalleh the bar boy arranged our trips and also arranged transfers to the airport V.helpful!... More

We visited Jan 4th to 11th. Went with an open mind after reading reviews. On arrival all went smoothly at reception. We were dissapointed with our initial room but a word at reception soon had us moved to a lovely garden room. Nothing was too much trouble with setting up mosquito net and changing bed to a double. Room was... More

Hotel is in Banjul iteslf - not the tourist strip of Senegambia. It is fantastic. A lot of people complaining on this site but I really don't see why. It is an African hotel but quality is European. Some dated features but so what, everything is clean and working well. Staff v.v.friendly and go out of their way to help... More

This hotel is definitely not a four star Hotel but I enjoyed my stay , the rooms were cleaned everyday and sprayed with Mosquito spray everynight. The only down side is this hotel is isolated and there is nothing around it, no bars, restaurants cafes etc. There is only one nice cafe come restaurant at the end of the street... More

there are many problems with this hotel my main problem was the service if you are all inclusive you get next to no service with the service around the pool if you are half board and paying for drinks then they will bring drinks to you so it is 2 class if you want service do not go all inclusive... We arrived on Tuesday 17th January and when we arrived at the airport, we were advised by the Olympic rep that due to the Presidential Elections we were unable to stay at Ocean Bay, the hotel we had booked. All the rooms in the top hotels had been taken until Friday 20th and we were told we had been booked... More

My husband and I stayed at the Laico in January this year, this is the 4th January in a row and the 6th stay in the last 8 years and I am sorry to say this year was probably the last time we will visit this hotel. It has without doubt lost some of its magic in the last few... More

Just returned on the 27/1/12 after two weeks at the Laico we had a great time.We where slightly anxious after we booked the holiday as we found that we required to have yellow fever shots at £60.00 per person, and also needed to take malaria tablets for over two weeks, at a cost of £53.00 per person. After reading trip advisor... Stayed 3 weeks from 6th Jan on AI. Thomas Cook flight was abysmal! No entertainment for 6.5 hour flight. Not enough room to twist your legs, let alone stretch them. Dreadful in-flight food. (WE had a similar bad experience with TC to Cuba several years ago and vowed we'd never go with them again... Wish we hadn't). However; CHECK IN... More
