Simple, attractive and well-run hotel right in the center of town, across from the Havana Club which can be very noisy. Rooms are simple and spartan but as clean as the Hotel Club du Lac Tanganyika. Helpful desk staff, will work with you for airport arrivals and departures which are often at crazy times in Buj. The restaurant is a... More

Hi, I have stayed at Botanika for about a month and I totally recommend this place. The only bad things I have to say are not under their control. also, I would like to mention that they were flexible about the payment, which is always appreciated in a country where the banking system is not really efficient. Overall, I would... More

This is a beautiful hotel in central Bujumbura. The staff are very helpful and attentive, and several speak English. The excellent restaurant has a creative menu with many Euro-African blends and original dishes. Beds have mosquito netting, but you may also want to bring your own bug spray. More

Botanika is fabulous. Food, service, wireless all excellent. But it has a bar/nightclub on either side, and one across the street (avoid rooms 1-3) and is incredibly noisy at night. The bar across the street closes at dawn each morning, with a whole lot of noise at that time too.The walls were vibrating so badly on Friday night that my... More

If you are not looking for a luxury but simplicity, cleaniness, and warmness, this is the one. They have a moquito net in the rooms; that's the main thing if you are looking for a hotel in bujumbura. and as others mentioned, there is a restaurant in the backyard; and the food is nice! And value for money! More

Much as others have written - this is a good, pleasant, clean and laid back hotel with helpful staff, most of whom speak English. There is a good restaurant downstairs in the courtyard - and a reasonable bar across the road that shows the rugby & football. I travel a lot and thought that this was a really good little... More

This is a charming French run hotel I decided to book due to the recommendations on Trip Advisor. Staff are very helpful and attentitive and there are nice touches such as free laundry, 7 days a week. Rooms are spacious and have a separate alcove with a table and several chairs. Bathrooms are huge and the plumbing and electricity works.... More

Great little place, centrally located in Bujumbura. Easily by-passed from the main road, just a red steel gate and a wall-painted "Botanika". But inside it's amazing. Just a couple of rooms, so reservations are adviseable. Very clean rooms, nice little garden and bar, very safe and excellent manager (speaks fluent English and French). Good restaurant. No spectacular view, no pool,... More
