This hotel is truly the only place to stay in Ouagadougou. It is an oasis in the middle of a dusty desert and an dustier city. Beautifully laid out gardens and a great swimming pool to wash off the Sahara dust. Well laid out and spacious room and a great SAFE restaurant. Absolutely recommend this Hotel

I stayed here for over a week and enjoyed it , most things are very good, personel is friendly , helpful, speaks english, poolwater is clean ,( the tiles outside could get cleaning, food is very good but also expensive, but what will you say for a class hotel like this, we are very glad to have a clean room... Probebly the best hotel in Ougadougou at the moment. Great rooms, good service however no attention to personalized service or attention. The breakfast buffet is nice but service very slow. The best way to get coffee with your breakfast is to go and get it yourself. Lots of bodyguards and security roaming around the reception hall making it very unpleasand... More

This is probably one of the best choices for hotels in Ouaga. That said, you are probably not going to mention it in your memoirs. It is quite uninspiring and dull. But you and your stomach will come out of it in one piece, and that is not a bad outcome in this city.

I had to travel to Ouagadougou in late September on a business trip. This hotel was one on a list provided by my embassy as safe and reasonable, and it turned out to be both. As others have said, remember where you are. Burkina is the the third least developed country in the world, with a literacy rate of 75%... More

I traveled to Burkina on business. I stayed in the hotel for roughly a month and ran into minor issues. KEEP IN MIND this is a 3rd world country..so dont expect perfection. BUT.. Rooms.. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms were immaculate (and marble). Burkina doesn't have the luxury of vacuums -- however the cleaning staff did sweep the rooms... More

I attended a conference with a negotiated room rate of 59,000 CFA. On the last day, I asked for a late check out (6 pm) and was told it would be a half-day charge, which I agreed to. Upon check-out the desk clerk charged me 52,000 CFA, equivalent to half of the rack rate - NOT my room rate. The... More

We stayed at the Laico Ouaga 2000 for 2 nights in November. On arrival, we were given a room with dozens of bugs. When asked to change the room, we were given the cold and rude shoulder. The hotel staff were resentful of regular tourists not affiliated with an embassy or NGO organization and an expense account. They did not... More

I am currently staying at the Laico Ouaga 2000 Hotel, and have been here for less than 24 hours. My experience so far compels me to search for another hotel for the rest of the week as this place is not at all worth the $200/night. Highlights of my first 24 hours here include: * loud insects in the bathroom... More
