During 2011 I have had to stay at the Azalai for business for approx 5 months in total. I was last there in July 2011. So I think I can give potential travellers a balanced view of the hotel. If you stay in Ouaga is for a couple of days and you wish to be centrally located then you should... More

Pros: Pool is really great. Nice and cool, pretty good size. In the mornings, kids have swimming lessons there so plan your dip accordingly. Near the airport, so handy when you have to go pick up your lost luggage the following day! Free airport shuttle. Pharmacy across the street Cons: Beds very firm, almost too firm. No hairdryer

Azalai is located jsut 10 minutes drive from the airport, right in the middle of the city. it's decent; nothing luxorius, but it is operated nicely. The staff is helpful, in their slow manner. If there are troubles, they are not very keen to assist but assertive, but polite, attitude helps. Everything was correct in my room; hot water, clean... More

We stayed 2 nights at the Azalai in Ouagadougou, January 17-19 2012. Very expensive for very small rooms, some rooms are dark, no view, bad beds, really unpleasant! We thought that the breakfast was poor (even the buffet was poor), friendly staff, beautiful swimmingpool, not situated in the most interesting area, you need a taxi to get around.

Location downtown means nothing is out of reach. Ask for a room in the main building, because there are also two annexes, which are fine, except that the corridors are open air and so the mosquitoes can be a fright. The room is a bit cramped, but perhaps that is because the bathroom is on the big side. Unless you... More

Was here on business for a few days and didn't have a problem. Lack of English speakers amongst the staff at all times may have been an issue if there was some sort of problem, but we managed. The hotel isn't so western so you wouldn't know where you were but had enough mod cons so it wasn't a trial.... More

Don't be fooled by the website pictures. The rooms are small, cheaply furnished and look like cells in a correctional facility. The bathroom is OK (tiny shower, low water pressure) but the A/C works and so does the TV (most channels are in French, bien sûr). There's also a fridge in the room and slow wifi. The food is dull... That sour review from February 2011 made me anxious - this hotel was chosen for me and I had to be here. All I can say is that so far, after a few days, I disagree. The personnel are friendly and helpful, this is not by any means a luxury hotel but my room is clean, the small curtain shower... More

Very bad management. I stayed in this hotel for more than 6 months, and each time i came back to Ouagadougou i told myself, it's the last time i stay in this hotel... then because the staff of the hotel is nice (the people you meet in ur day to day activities), i was staying in the hotel in spite... Arriving in Ouaga during Hammatam (wind) made for a dusty trip. Luckily hotel room was clean and water was hot. Also web access available. Given there is not much to do in Ouaga, the pool was a good place to stretch out and go for a swim. Also food in the pm was acceptable price as was the g &... More
