Visited the Walmont for a wedding. Becareful with your room type, the newer renovated rooms which seem to only be on the executive floor are much better. Bathrooms however are tiny in both room types. The older rooms have old style tube tv's although there is nothing wrong with them in terms of cleanliness. They just need the updating. Breakfast... Location was excellent, as was the room. Everything was on the pricey side, but that was pretty common everywhere I stayed in Africa. Wifi was extra and pretty pricey as well. Several restaurant in the hotel, and all had excellent food. Breakfast buffet was also excellent. Very funny to see monkeys all over the grounds like squirrels. They didn't bother... More

Gaborone is the DeBeers capital. Very nice people. The Grand Palm is a resort hotel with a casino. I did not go to the casino. I tried sitting out by the pool in the evening but the mosquito's were too prolific. Peacocks on the property & monkeys. Never bothersome, except for the peacocks sounding like a rooster does in the... More

The hotel is nice, clean, comfortable, the restaurant had good steak. The fatal flaw was their inability to pick me up at the airport on time. The first time they were 'only' 20 minutes late (its a ten minute ride from the airport to the hotel) and the second time, despite me calling the front desk twice to ask where... More

GREAT location for those who like to stay out of city center. The old rooms are nothing more than OK but the renovated ones are nice. Slow service at reception, very slow internet. very good breakfast and nice buffet for dinner. The restaurant located in the hotel is very good (if you have 45 min to wait for the food)... More

Be prepared to pay a lot for basically a bed and expect nothing for free (not even breakfast). Everything costs extra at this hotel and some of the Front Desk employees can be less than helpful. In my case, they kept giving me excuses why they couldn't/wouldn't help me retrieve my lost bag at the airport [despite the Airport officials... More

the hotel is accessible via private car and public transport. Security is available at the parking lots. Reception is receptive to room changes. If you are looking for a bed and average service staff then this is the place to be. On the up side, the food within the restaurant is spectacular. Buffet menu is available if u r price... More

I checked in with a group. It took over an hour to process us. The had the reservation but failed to prepare for our arrival. My room is on the fifth floor. I arrived on the floor, walked to my room and was greeted by a large RAT running down the service hall. I got up to go to the... More
