This lovely rustic hotel is tucked away amid large shady trees and set in lush tropical gardens. This has to be Dar's biggest secret. I lived in Dar for 2 years and have visited more than a dozen times since leaving there and had only heard of the place once. The rooms are very clean and the bathroom was spotless... More

I went for dinner to Mediterraneo. The ambiance is way too amazing, I really fancied the atmosphere, very peaceful and tranquil. I was also very happy with the food. We ordered margarita and pizza, which was very tasty, although its pricey. But good things in life come with a price. More

We only spent one night at Mediterraneo on our way to Zanaibar and wished we could've stayed longer. The rooms and property have been laid out in exquisite Zanzibarian style. The location with its personal patch of white sand powder beach is tranquil with a picture-perfect view. You're so close to the water line you almost fear the waves will... More

We spent just one night here after a late air arrival but the service was great, the room quiet, clean and comfortable. We awoke to a beautiful view of the ocean for breakfast at the restaurant. More

The rooms are a little spartan, but the hotel, food and restaurant, the loungers directly next to the sea more than make up for any small shortcomings. And the food is wonderful, make sure to try the Prawn Cocktail starter, nothing you will have tried before, superb. More

We used this hotel as our hub in Dar Es Salaam during our 3 weeks Tanzanian vacation. We spent all together 5 nights in here in the 3 weeks period. The hotel is situated right on the beach and perfect for some R&R. However, if you have work to do in the city you might be better off choosing a... More

Location is fabulous but I would easily say that staff training plus speed of service is critical but was sadly lacking.. (1/2 hour for drinks, place empty) the bill came in double quick time! I would say at least 5 years behind India.. More

A lovely relaxing stay but the transfer to and from the hotel from the airport depends on the traffic so check times with care. Service was fine and the pizzas looking out to sea great. Rooms are a bit tatty but not bad value. More

It was so affordable that each of us (4 in our group) had our own large private room - normally I plan to share - what a luxury! The staff are SO accommodating, friendly and helpful. Getting to know the Masai guards is a wonderful experience. A couple we met had a small daughter with them and they were so... More
