I would highly recommend for a close to Dar, but lovely secluded spot to chill out. Not a ton of activities but the food was great--especially the whole roast red snapper! The atmosphere and rooms were very nice but I have the horrible sneaking suspicion that a monkey or some other vermin got in one night [we did have the... more

We went with our two teenage kids. We took two bungalows by the sea. I loved the Ras Kutani for the following: The beach, the bungalows (complete with hammocks and reading areas on the front porch), the kind and friendly staff, the lovely warm water and the beautiful beach beds - which are heavenly with rolled screens over the top... more

We stayed for 5 nights at Ras Kutani in one of their Suites on our honeymoon and I can only say it was excellent, the food, service, management and room were fantastic. Sarah and Russell were great hosts, and the bar prices were far cheaper than in Zanzibar. Its worth staying in the suiteand saving your money at the end... more

I have just returned from a 5night stay at Ras Kutani. We travelled in a family group of 7 and enjoyed our stay at Ras Kutani very much. We loved our banda's which were situated next to the lovely lagoon and were facing sea as well. It is a lovely and quiet place. You don't need any shoes to wear... more

Stayed at Ras Kutani for 6 nights after a week on safari. The drive from Dar airport took less than 2 hours, including a fascinating short ferry trip. We were greeted with great warmth and hospitality by the charming Emil, which set the tone for the friendliness we encountered from all the staff during our stay. The bandas are perfect... more

We spent 6 nights at Ras Kutani following 8 days on safari. We found it to be excellent in every way. The short hop by plane from Dar is very quick and links very well with long haul flights to Europe. The rooms are very large and serviced to a high standard. The food was top rate especially given the... more

Really relaxing friendly resort with excellent food and accomodation. Local staff were unobtrusive yet the service was first class. Some sort of fan would have been nice at times. Take your insect spray. more

We arrived here after an amazing safari and travelled by a plane for 2 and landed on the hotels own air strip where we were whisked by car to the private lake that we were then rowed across to the landing and reception deck. It was a very welcoming arrival and certainly felt kicked back and chilled out. Other holiday... more

This place must be the best place to unwind close to dar. The beach is amazing with awesome snorkeling just off the beach. They set up a little beach hide out with a flag for all the couples on the beach to lounge in. In the morning you get waken up with amazing coffee and fresh cookies. The Houses are... more
