When booking, we upgraded to a de luxe room for a very small difference - there are some rather worrying looking rooms which can only be described as beign undeground as they appear very dark and dingy. Room was great and well worth the upgrade, dinner on the terrace overlooking the sea was very pleasant, but breakfasts were rather boring... More

Friendly staff, very nice rooms, sea view and pool area, although the beach isn't really a beach. Quiet area, but at the same time close to shopping centres and ATMs. Would stay there again. More

The hotel itself is quite nice and the location perfect, but the service is really bad and the breakfast and food even worse. The breakfast was so bad that I couldn't eat it, no attention to detail or quality. Lunch was also terrible. The one day I was in my room, not feeling well, I would not get the staff... More

The hotel is situated on the Msasani Peninsula just north of the city centre directly on the ocean front. The beach part in the name is a bit deceiving, as it is not a real beach, rather a little sandbox with 2 parasols at the end of the garden. Arriving at the hotel already gives you a bleak indication of... More

Welcoming, helpful staff. Good accommodation. Good location - short trip to Slipway and Seacliff shopping centres but these are small. Importantly both have ATMs which usually contain money!! The hotel beach is not really for recreational purposes. Good variety of food with choice of al fresco overlooking shore or indoor tables. Quality could be improved. Good if somewhat pricey taxi... I have lived in Dar for many years so when I came back on business I was booked at the Coral Beach...it definitely has one of the best views in Dar, BUT ironically they never want to service the tables near the ocean (they want you to sit at the rest or bar). The rooms are great, very luxurious and... More

We stayed here before our wedding in Dar Es Salaam. The first room we were showed to was awful despite being in the new wing..there was no balcony and a view of a graffiti concrete wall...hardly the romantic view we had imagined however after asking to see the manager we were moved to a much nicer (if older) room with... We travelled with our 17months old daughter. The hotel didn't send their driver as said but send us a private local taxi and charged us twice as the normal price (65usd for one way airport - resort instead of 30usd). Then we found that the the offer that they discussed with my husband's company was just for the room and... More

My stay here was my first trip to TZ and the only hotel I have stayed in so far in Dar. To be fair I didn't pay for the accommodation, my company did. To me it's an average hotel - it's not too shabby but not too chic either. My room was nice enough, quite roomy, free wi fi, and I... More

We spent several days at the Best Western Coral Beach Hotel during Christmas/New Year's 2010/11. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Rooms were very nice, mattresses were very comfy. The best part of the hotel was it's amazing location. It is located on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean. Most evenings we enjoyed the sunsets with... More
