Dar Shama was really an excellent riad in the Palmeraie of Marrakesh. A beautiful garden with swimming pool, nice and quiet if you want to escape the hecticism of the crowded and vivid city.

Journey from the airport to the hotel was 20mins long. Once we reached the hotel in the evening, there was a wow factor, the welcoming was great, rooms spacious. We stayed in a standard double room with built in wardrobes and a lovely bathroom, with TV and cable, but all in German. Only English channels available was CNN international and...

We arrived after a long hot journey as family group. Check in seemed very slow but once through the gates everyone was wowed by the gardens and the rooms which were spectacular. Then disappointment set in. Lunch by the pool took 1 hour to materialise and dinner was at best average, and very expensive. Service for everything was chaotic and...

Mum and I have just returned from a break at the Dar Shama, without any doubt, one of the best hotels we have have ever stayed in.
In the most beautiful grounds, even nicer than depicted in the website, this small intimate hotel offers a level of service and elegance that is comparable to some of the best 5 star...

We had our marriage here. The day before, the director of the hotel got into an argument with one of the invitees and wanted to cancel the marriage. I tried to arrange the thing and they did the minimum. They tried to profit a maximum from everything and we did not feel well attended. They have no sense of who...

I hate to give bad reviews, but this place has, to a large extent, lost its way.
It was clearly designed and set up to cater for a small number of guests in luxury surroundings. However, standards have slipped and the lack of front-of-house staff makes it more like staying in a remote villa than somewhere with hotel amenities.
Nice...

On a website it was listed as a recommended restaurant in Marrakech, for a romantic dinner. It is way out of the Medina, vut we didn't see that as an issue.
When we arrived, the table wasn't set & it took about 20mins for a waiter to set it when I asked for it. Meanwhile, we had the chance to...
