We have stayed at Riyad Mabrouka on a number of occasions, mixing leisure and pleasure with business. Rooms are delightfully decorated with authentic Moroccan furniture, paintings and artefacts. The courtyard, with its huge mosaic decorated columns and its tinkling fountain, leads into the garden where breakfast and dinner are taken under the orange trees beside the plunge pool. The staff... more

We stayed two nights at the Ryad Mabrouka. In fact, it wasour first acquaintance with the real Morocco. We loved the room and the general atmosphere. Compared to the other ryads we stayed at during the rest of our trip, this place felt like the most authentic, with a bit of a majestic feel (f.i. the large wooden doors and... more

Mabrouka is among the very firts riads opened in Fès, almost 10 years ago, before the medina was a trend. This is a large house with a french touch. I mean, that most of the furniture is french familly-owned antiques. The owners actually come from Lyon in France. Allthough their welcome is a bit colder than other Dar or Riads,... more

If you're visiting Fes and want an authentic Moroccan experience then you must stay at a RYAD, an old Moroccan home turned into a hotel/bed/breakfast. I highly recommend the RYAD MABROUKA and here are my reasons: (1) IT WILL TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY - outside it's very low-key: white walls, a wooden door and a simple sign. But once you... more

My husband and I spent five nights in early April of 2008 at the Ryad Mabrouka. The only thing we regretted was that we couldn’t stay longer. The ryad, built in the 1920’s, was formerly the home of Moroccan family. The present owners, who are French, spent two years restoring the house and have done a magnificent job. The interiors... more

Beautiful riad, great balance of location, comfort and price Had the Merinides Suite and Bayda Room on first floor - clean, pretty, bathrooms with towels, etc; great breakfasts (a little too much to eat) and lovely dinner; refreshing plunge pool Entrance to old medina was about 2 mins walk away, and riad is located close to Bab Boujloud where a... more

There is a great sense of relief when entering the Ryad from the gloomy alley on which it lies but don't expect an overwhelming welcome if you the ask for something like a coffee. The staff are Ok, but Hasan, whose role we never discovered but seems to be some sort of Manager reacts in a way which makes one... more

The Riyad Mabrouka in Fes is a blissful; from the moment you step through the big doors into the courtyard, to the moment you leave. We stayed in the Royal Suite, mainly because there was none other available at the time, and we had a regal time for a reasonable sum. The room was sumptuous, in a very Moroccan way:... more

Coming to Morocco for the first time is a true assault on the senses. And if you want a haven then there is no doubt that this Ryad is peaceful. Good things: 1. Great breakfast, delicious pastries, jams, coffee etc, attentive staff. 2. Dinner was excellent (we had it twice), great wine list and wonderful food. The balcony level where... more
