To stay at Dar Kamal Chaoui is to remind us of why we love Morocco so much. Kamal, the owner, brought us into the heart of this small community, the perfect antidote to the clamour and bustle of Fez. He is a man of great charm and energy, with a rich passion for sharing his love of his country. He was... More

If you are seeking a pampered touristic convenience-driven hands-off holiday in Morocco, then this may not be for you. If however you'd like to know what 'real' Morocco is like and even meet some genuine people whose primary aim is not to sell you something, then a few days here will be a unique treat. We were intrigued by some... More

This is a lovely little home in the heart of what I like to think of as the true Morroco, away from the tourist trail in a quiet little village. Kamal is a super friendly guy who goes out of his way to make sure his guests are happy in every way possible, his wife Beatrice is a great cook... More

Life in Bhalil is totally different compare to Fez. It's a village that's not too far from Fez (about 30 min drive) with a lot of friendly people. We were very lucky to have stayed a night at Dar Kamal Chaoui. Like the villagers in Bhalil, Kamal was very helpful and friendly. He brought us around the village to show... More

Bhalil is a small and quiet yet beautiful village about 20km from Fez. Dar Kamal is actually Kamal and Beatrice's family home. Beatrice, and their helper Sabah are wonderful cooks. You have to try their cooking especially the chicken tajine and desserts. Regretfully, we only stayed a night, which was too short a trip. Kamal was very nice to have... More

Well, I don’t write very often comments but this time I really feel that I have to. When my friends first proposed me this trip I was a bit reluctant in the sense that it seemed to me a bit scary for four girls to travel "alone" in a foreign country such as Morocco. But then she spoke about her... More

An easy 24 km from Fez, Dar Kamal Chaoui is well worth a trip. Plan to stay several nights to have time to relax and ease into the way of life in an authentic small Moroccan village. Kamal and Beatrice are the lovliest hosts, warm and welcoming in the true Moroccan style. Their guesthouse is decorated beautifully with simple understated... More

To experience the renowned Moroccan hospitality in a relaxed environment stay at Dar Kamal Chaoui Guesthouse in Bhalil. No more than 45 minutes from Fes airport, Bhalil was the start to our trip before travelling to Fez. We arrived at the Guesthouse and immediately felt at ease. Kamal is extremely helpful and polite ensuring a pleasant stay. His wife Beatrice... More

Get away from the noise from Fez and come to this charming Riad. Heated Floors! Beautiful mountain hike with a family picnic what a treat! Very clean private bath and shower. Beatrice is an amazing cook with garden fresh meals. Kamal offers any assistance and makes this a great family place or couples respite. Truly undiscovered, please pass the word!

Close to Fez and Sefrou, this pretty village nested on a mountainside, has kept all its authenticity. The house has been renovated the Khalil style.with an added personal touch to provide with all the necessary comfort for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Great access to a lot of places to visit. Would definitely recommend. A+++
