If you're looking for a cheap place to spend a night, this hotel would meet your needs. If you're planning on staying for a few days, I would look elsewhere. The room was clean enough and didn't appear to be in bad shape, but my non-smoking room always seemed to smell like cigarette smoke when my neighbor lit up. There's... More

Im surprised at the 100east percent dislike of the other reviews. If you are only paying 49 dollars a night you cant expect the grand palace. For an overnight on the road stay the place was pretty darn clean. It had a big tv for entertainment. The breakfast wasnt exciting but there was selection. Bathrooms were dim but clean and... More

We called to make reservations on our way to South Dakota. Within an hour of making the reservations we had car trouble and had to call to cancel the room. The woman that took the reservation said there was no problem, it was cancelled. A month later we get our credit card statement to learn we had been charged for... More

Stayed Fri March 16 on the way to Des Moines..late check-in. Room was below average and the bed was awful. could barely sleep due to little bed bugs biting me all nite. No close stores or restaurants open late..would not stay at again

This hotel is in a fairly isolated spot, and has absolutely no passkey lock on the rear door- it is completely empty. It's not that the lock didn't work, there was never one there. Anyone at any time could enter by the rear property door without key. Completely unsafe- especially when relatively empty. This hotel has seen hard use with... More

We stayed overnight in Ames after an ISU football game. We did not spend much time there by design. The place shows its age and is far from perfect but we had no major complaints. The breakfast is very basic with cake donuts, english muffins and toast with cereal. An acceptable place to stay with low expectations.

Foyer had same dried clumps of dirt in it when I entered at 5 pm Monday and exited 7:30 am Tuesday. Duct tape holding down carpet where it met tile of the bathroom. Place smelled like cigarettes. Filthy. Wouldn't dream of eating breakfast at the pathetic cereal-bar they've got set up near registration.

This was perhaps the worst stay in a motel i have ever had in my life! We checked in about 8 pm after traveling for 4 hours. Immediately from the outside the motel appeared old and uncared for. Checking in the desk was easy, although the foreign nationality desk worker was hard to understand. We were placed in room 201... More

I read these reviews and recalled staying here a few years back. The rooms were unclean so it is no surprise there were bed bugs recently. I thought I forgot my credit card at front desk and came back after I checked out and nicely asked the clerk and she stated (with cigarette in mouth)-"WHAT!!?? YOU ACCUSING ME OF BEING... More

No breakfast bar, no luxury at all. The hotel stands in a lot adjacent to numerous other hotels - a Hampton Inn, and a Country and Suites, for instance. All of them are better. The coffee pot was not replaced ready for my second morning.....and the ants crawling behind the TV unit were the final straw. Avoid.
