Official Description (provided by the hotel):: Prairie Rose Bed and Breakfast - located in the heart of the Amana Colonies, just 2 blocks from downtown Amana, yet nestled in a private, lovely setting. Originally the Wash Haus, this home has been renovated with beautiful oak finishes, yet still highlighting the original nooks, crannies, and massive beams. We offer 2 bedrooms: The Rose Bower - decorated in cheerful reds, has a queen bed and an attached garden bathroom with walk-in shower and 2 sinks. Our second bedroom -- Wee Violets, only refers to the wild violets growing on the property -- is a large room which is soft and peaceful. It also has a queen bed, personal robes, and the private bath is a few steps down the hall. We feature a delicious breakfast, with entrees such as French Toast, Pear Waffles, juice, coffee, tea, fruit and a selection of meats. Our site is large, and we have lots of parking. ... more less

“Everything you could ask for in a B&B”

The proprietor, Marye, is gracious, accommodating and pays attention to detail. We had homemade brownies waiting for us when we arrived. “excellent B&B”

Marye is the ideal hostess: very accommodating and friendly. She made recommendations for entertainment and kept us informed about happenings around the area. The breakfasts were superb with fresh fruit, waffles, french toast and Amana bacon. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. We had the perfect weekend and plan to return to Prairie Rose.

We stayed at the Prairie Rose Bed and Breakfast for the second time since moving from Iowa to Michigan because our first experience there was so fine.
