Stayed just next door at their sister property Hotel Libertador. Plaza del General is under same ownership and rooms, service, price, restaurant are of equal quality to Libertador. Both are comfortable, good service, exactly the same rates, I paid a corp rate of $87 dbl w/ taxes & breakfasts included. Breakfasts were not stupendous, but were quite decent. Both these... More

It's a very average hotel. A good point is that it is in a safe residential area with armed security guards... important in this high-crime town. The hotel decor seems to be based on whatever oddments they could pick up at a local bargain basement -- mismatched wallpapers, lamps tiles, and furniture that have been spread around without any theme... More

Stayed here for 4 nights on a business trip, the bedrooms are ok but it can be very noisy with a nightclub next door and also a lot of noise coming from the corridor and neighbouring bedrooms. Wireless costs €10 per 24 hrs and it was a very poor connection. Breakfast was ok but very expensive. I will try another... More

On a recent trip from Managua, Nicaragua, to La Ceiba, Honduras, we stayed overnight at the Hotel Plaza del General. The reception staff was not very friendly, the rooms were OK, although they have a glass-inlet in de wooden door, so you can see the floor-light all night in your bed - quite annoying.
