We stayed at Casa Kaehler for a little over a week while we went to language school and it's a really good value for the money. For Q160 a night, we got a good sized private room with private bath and the biggest and best breakfast I've ever had at a restaurant. In fact, the breakfast was so big we would get one order and split it on 2 plates. We also had dinner there a few times- the soups and pastas are tasty and a good value. CK isn't a fancy place, but definitely a few steps up from the backpacker type establishments. Clair at the front desk was very helpful in arranging trips and shuttles for us. The hotel is located on a sidestreet in a safe neighborhood a block away from Parque Central and within easy walking distance to the Municipal Theater, restaurants, banks,etc. They also have an in-house bar, email access (free to those staying), and a pile of DVDs for those rainy days.
