Immaculately clean, beds changed daily, windows sparkle and a beautiful garden to relax in outside under umbrellas. This hotel is little know to the general public but is well known by the Japanese. Hotel El Sol is owned and run by a Japanese man and his Guatemala wife. Both are wonderful and work hard to please the guest. Dorms are... More

Hotel el sol is one of the best places I have ever stayed. It is immaculately clean, bright, airy and welcoming. The rooms are very pretty and well maintained and each floor has a lovely lounge area. The japanese family who run it take huge pride in the place and are very polite and welcoming. The food in the japanese... More

Although a bit outside of the hustle and bustle of Pana, Hotel El Sol provides very clean rooms. Owned by a japanese family, it also has a japanese restaurant. It is quite easy to take a tuk tuk into town and the people that run the hotel are accommodating.

My wife and I just finished an excellent fresh sushi and tempora dinner prepared at this hotel by the wonderful family that runs it. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and today is Monday. They prepared us a wonderful meal anyway! The hotel was almost full so we are staying in the dorm for one night, which I don't normally... More

Lake Attitlan...one day we will be back....All the best memories! This is a safe, extra clean, value for money with excellent service. This is a Japanese family run property. Everything was just perfect. Only the distance from the city center but with a took-took is just a five minutes (and 30 cents) ride. Also note that Panajachel is a safe... More

For that little bit extra you would spend to stay at Hotel El Sol rather than a hostel, you get a really clean and nice room. The hotel itself is clean and respectful throughout. The owner was always at hand to help us and was very friendly. The bathroom was of a good size as was the bedroom. The only... More
