I would recommend the South Waters Resort. It is a little away from the main hub, but 3 minutes walk from the "busy area" in Placencia. Right next to the Crow's Nest Cafe - my favourtie eating place and the staff are friendly and helpful. The have both cabanas and more hotel-like rooms both of which are very nice. More

South Waters Resort is the place to be if you want privacy, good romantic atmosphere. Great atmosphere for proposal to a love one. The housekeeping is great.
