Stayed here for three nights in February 2012. We had the First Lady Suite on the fourth floor. Huge room with cathedral ceiling and lovely big terrace with great views of the town, furnished with hammock, rocking chair etc. Room also had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. There were a couple of floor fans but no A/C, however we... More

We stayed here for two nights, so we could be closer to the tour companies (we used PACZ and loved them) before heading to the jungle. We would definitely stay here again. Everyone was very helpful (they made us breakfast to-go, so we could run to catch our tour; kept the kitchen open late to serve us, and my boyfriend... More

We did not stay at Martha's but we did go back to eat there twice. The food was great...both the local Belizean food and more traditional fare. If you go (it is one block off the main drag) you have to get their fry jacks. We had them all over Belize and these were the best ever pastry--light, delicate and... More

Our well-appointed suite included a lovely balcony, which was a great spot to relax and experience the sights and sounds of San Ignacio Town. Since I am a "repeat customer" it's the owner's friendly, hospitable nature and great food, as well as the convenience to shopping, restaurants, groceries, transportation, etc. that keep me coming back to Ms. Martha's! Candy (and... More

We stayed at the guest-house during the Xmas holidays for two days, wanting to visited the ATM-cave and Tikal over the border nearby. We arrived quite late by bus from Belize city, our room was ready and Martha, her American friend and a receptionist welcomed us. The hotel matched the description, we were happy to be there and booked our... More

Stayed three nights in the jr. suite. Excellent views of city and great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Bed was a little stiff and the sheets weren't anything to brag about, but overall this was a great bargain. The disco down the street was loud late, but we managed to sleep through most of it. More

Stay with Martha, John and Hugo in downtown San Ignacio and find excellent, affordable travel services to Mayan Ruins in Cayo District plus caves, river and Botanical trips and guides. Martha's can also set you up with a car and driver/guide for onward travel, if you wish to avoid vehicle rental hassle. The guest house and restaurant is superb: breakfast... More

Martha’s Guest House is listed as B & B. Actually, in my book this is a boutique hotel. Three stories and ten rooms with secure staff-attended entry lobby and attached small but full-service restaurant. When traveling solo, I often hop from hotel to hotel. Such activity is not acceptable when traveling with my wife. Martha’s was my third hotel in... More

Martha's was a fantastic guesthouse, complete with attentive staff. We stayed in the fourth floor "penthouse" a/k/a the "First Lady Suite." It was very spacious, housing 2 beds and a large bathroom. The highlight for us was the great balcony that overlooked the town of San Ignacio. The balcony had seating as well as a hammock for relaxing. This room... More

First off this place is expensive and not worth your money. They do not provide shampoo nor body soap. We were also told that the rate included a continental breakfast and were lied to. In the morning we were ready to eat and the staff told us that there was not breakfast being served and there was nothing they can... More
