The lodge has a number of different sized cabanas, as well as a dorm like building with a common veranda, perfect for a family or large group, and all nestled within a very lush jungle like setting, just on the edge of San Ignacio. I believe all of the rooms have air conditioning and private bathrooms, and are clean, well... More

When our jeep broke down on the dirt road near the lodge Bart came out and said "I'll take care of everything just go and enjoy your day". We made it to our tour, had a great day and returned to find a new vehicle waiting for us. Bart dealt with everything and made it seem like no big deal.... More

I spent 3 nights at Maya Mountain Lodge. It proved a perfect mix of relaxation and jungle adventure. We went on 2 tours: ATM and Xunantunich. Both were fabulous, as other reviewers have commented. We also spent time hiking through the rainforest at Maya Mountain Lodge. There are 2 main trails, each less than a mile long. Bart was very... More

My wife and I spent three nights in late December 2011 at the Maya Mountain Lodge. The lodge is located in a jungle setting a few miles outside of San Ignacio in the Cayo District of Belize. Maya Mountain is a great compromise between staying in downtown San Ignacio and at one of the more remote jungle lodges such as... More

Most reviews are based on expectations I suppose, and if so, Maya Mountain Lodge exceeded mine. I've traveled in Latin America quite a bit, and seldom do things go perfectly down south. But I have to say our stay at Maya Mountain was quite enjoyable and went off without a hitch. Bart and Suzie were great hosts and were very... More

Had a recent stay at Maya Mountain Lodge. I loved the surroundings with all the trees and paths. All of the staff were very friendly and helping. One night when we returned when it was downpouring a worker came out to our car to provide us with umbrellas. We rented a car so we went into town for cheaper meals... More

We stayed with Bart and Suzi for four nights and had great service and food. We did three days of great adventures: ATM (wow) , Tikail (cool) and Kayaking (fun). The staff was very friendly - in fact so nice that met brought shoes we left behind all the way to Belice City so we could easily pick them up.... More

Maya Mountain Lodge is a wonderful place to stay. I was looking for some jungle atmosphere and this place was perfect for that! I had chosen to stay in the most economical room and was well pleased with the accommodation. Bart and Suzi are the most welcoming of hosts, knowledgeable about Belize in all its aspects and happy to share... More

My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon at Maya Mountain Lodge and we enjoyed our time there very much! Bart and Susie, the owners, were very gracious hosts and offered a wealth of helpful information. We recommend getting the meal plan as their meals are not to be missed. Breakfast is served whenever you need it depending on... More
