We visited Maya Mountain Lodge (MML) for 3 nights before a dive trip. It is important to set expectations before you visit anywhere, Maya Mount Lodge is not a Hilton or Hyatt, but a well kept, well organized Lodge in Belize. Do not expect telephones in the room, A/C, a huge menu or rum drinks with little umbrellas. Do expect... more

We stayed 3 nights at Maya Mountain with our two children, 6 and 3. Bart, the owner, arranged everything from airport pick up to our meals to hiring a taxi for the day. If you haven't already reserved a cabana, call back and upgrade. I read in the hammock every night before going to bed. Bart has owned Maya Mtn.... more

One of the things we liked best about our stay at Maya Mountain Lodge was the care given to choosing the best guides for our trips. The owners have lived in Belize for 30 years and know the people very well. They keep current on the changes in various tour companies and chose very wisely for us. The guide we... more

The food is fantastic with the owner Suzie supervising every phase. The trips are arranged by the owner Bart who arranges for a guide for the day's activities. His recommendations for which trips and his selection of the best guides makes it fabulous.. more

We stayed 4 nights at Maya Mountain Lodge and it was great! The food was the best we had in Belize with lunches packed to go for our day trips. They arranged all of our tours: to Tikal in Guatemala; to Barton Cave and the most spectacular swimming hole I'd ever been to; and also horseback riding through the jungle.... more

I have stayed at MML many times over the past five years. I keep coming back to MML for the beautiful location, wonderful cabins (many with traditional thatched roofs!), friendly and efficient staff, and fun tours that they offer. I have never had an issue with the service or food. In fact, I lead student groups and have had stayed... more

If you are looking for an upscale, modern lodge, this is not your selection. With that said, Maya Mountain Lodge (MML) staff is friendly and engaging, though at times it was obvious after conversations with many employees that turnover is fairly high and several were learning on the job. The grounds are attractive and native. The food at $30 per... more

When we go to inland Belize this is the place we prefer to stay because we've rec'd consistently excellent service/meals/lodging when there. The lodge grounds are beautiful, the cottages are perfect for a couple as well as being clean, and bug-free (not easy to find in in-land Belize). The meals are absolutely fantastic. They must have the fortune of keeping... more

We stayed at Maya Mountain Lodge 2 years ago as part of a package tour, and when we decided to return to Belize on our own, we knew that this is where we wanted to base ourselves for the inland part of our trip. We arrived without set plans and the owner, Bart, and his office manager, Mary, were able... more
