We were in the Soquel area for one of Jim Denevan's Outstanding in the Field feasts. His website recommended this B&B as a convenient place to stay near the farm. The Denevan event was a great experience and so was our overnight in Uncle Chester's 250-yr-old bed at Apple Lane Inn. Breakfast the next morning, cooked and served by the... More

Peaceful & perfect. We loved our visit to the Apple Lane Inn. We were looking for a B&B with old world charm and that is exactly what we found. I booked the Pineapple room upon looking at a photo online, it had a european feel with it's four poster bed and armoire. Breakfast in the parlor was lovely and shared... More

I have stayed in many beautiful old homes, but this is not one of them. Mostly it was very dirty. Dust bunnies under the bed, mildew in the shower, cobwebs everywhere. The breakfast was not the worst ever but below average. The towels were old and threadbare. There was no place to put your things as there were stuffed animals,... More

Historical home, yes; but also tired and worn. Definitely shows its age. I don't mind old, but the breakfast was pretty awful--direct from Costco. We skipped the second day's fare, and I think the inn-keeper was miffed. The fact that he showed it is a strike against him. Given that this is a relatively expensive area, the prices here are... This was our family's third stay at Apple Lane Inn. We favor the Wine Cellar, and look forward to our return when our son graduates UC Santa Cruz next June. If you want history, it surrounds you in the Inn, with references throughout the parlor. If you want nature, it surrounds the Inn. Be sure to stay on a Saturday... More

The stay at Apple Lane Inn was delightful ! Right when we arrived, Doug greeted us, & gave us the history and a tour of the house. Him & Carol were such a cute couple, very inviting, & caring. Breakfast was incredible, we loved sitting at the table with all of the other guests staying at the inn. Every room... More

Apple Lane Inn is a 125 year old elegant farmhouse. We stayed in "Uncle Chester" and slept in a 225 year old poster bed. The room had charming squeaky wood floors (you'd squeak too if you were 125 years old). I enjoyed feeding crab apples to the goat and horse. Doug, the innkeeper is "a kick". We really enjoyed him.... Hello all ... if you want a quiet, nice, rustic, and historic place to stay while having fun in Santa Cruz, then this is your place. It is such a nice break from your typical Holiday Inn, Ramada Inn, and Motel 6! Yes, this place is old but that's the allure! This B&B is from the 1870's and the floor... More

I recently enjoyed a wonderful experience at the Apple Lane Inn. I stayed for four nights and enjoyed the scenery around the Inn but also at the Capitola Beach. The first encounter of the Inn is a driveway of apple trees on the right and a red barn halfway up the driveway with an antique green pickup truck setting the... More

I am writing this to let everyone know about the great treatment and warm hospitality that I received from my recent stay at this bed and breakfast. Brett Stolz went out of his way, above and beyond the call of duty, to make sure that my stay there was exceptional. I travel often and must say his was the best... More
