Two night stay in a Carriage room (split level) was adequate and clean, but in definitely need of attention. The coat closet in the entry no longer had a door, and the mirrored closet door sliders in the bedroom no longer slid. The decor in the room and in the lobby is in serious need of an update. Feels like... More

Thank you for sharing your comments with me and pointing out the great staff that works at The Latham Hotel. Our Carriage rooms are extremely unique and the favorite of many guests who frequent us often. We do have a renovation planned and the Carriage rooms will be one of the first room types to be addressed. Again, thank you... More

I have stayed at the Latham twice in the past year. I have found the rooms to vary greatly and so have my colleagues Some are awkwardly configured with somewhat dated furniture, others are more standard in shape and size and don't look as shopworn. It never hurts to ask to be moved to another room - the staff seem... More

We needed to be in Georgetown and found this location to be perfect. The hotel was offering a value rate and the price was dead on for the product. The room was exceptionally clean and everything worked. The furnishings were dated and re painted. You could spin this as a "green" solution to providing lodging. In our view we prefer... More

The Good - We paid $150 a night for a two floor suite in Georgetown - Excellent - Location in the middle of Georgetown - Room service was excellent due the five star restaurant downstairs - Citronelle - We had one of our best meals ever for two people at Citronelle, but we spend $670 on it! - Ten minute... We stayed here for one night and booked because we were attending a dinner in the Citronelle restaurant and did not want to make the hour drive home late in the evening. We chose valet parking because parking in that area is limited. Valet cost us $38 for the night; steep in our opinion! The lobby is nicely decorated for... More

Friendly check in-- first room had a noisy heater--they moved us with out any issues. The furniture in the rooms is pretty worn out--funny old TV and phones--carpet stained. Good location is a big plus. More

Location is superb and the lobby attractive. But the rooms are another story -- at least the one we were given. The a/c-heat system was so noisy, it woke us up very, very often -- clink here, clang there, one minute hot, the next cold, and a constant hum; painted trim peeling, wallpaper about to come off with pencil markings;... The underground "executive suites" are graced by uncomfortable beds and pillows. The loud heating system alternates blasts of hot and cold air. The lobby is pleasant, but classical music in the lobby does not make up for a bad night's rest. Hotels in DC are always overpriced, but you can do much better. More
