A nice alternative to a major chain. It works, it's clean, it's close to everything, it feels cosy and it's good value, especially for couples and family. I went for business but it would be great for a family trip. Two types of suite - separate bedroom and all-in one with a full size kitchen. Small but friendly restaurant downstairs... More

Brilliant location, we spent some lovely days in Georgetown which is easy walking distance .... Got the tube to the smithsonion museums ... Very large rooms, a little dated but comfortable, the wee fitness room also came in handy, would stay there again although I did feel it was probably too expensive More

We are thrilled you found our location ideal for your needs. Georgetown is a great place to spend time in; we hope you were able to enjoy some great cuisines from the many restaurants in that area. We hope you are able to visit us again the next time you visit DC. More

I think that most of the other reviews are pretty accurate. Your satisfaction will likely be related directly to your expectations. I would put this on par with a Marriott Residence Inn, except it has more of a boutique or independent feel to it. The king bed was very comfortable, but those who had to sleep in the living room... Thank you for your feedback with regards to our rooms and our staffing. While we are not a family operation, most of our staff members have been here for years and have a familial bond with one another. We are happy you were able to get around the city on foot. While we are not in the middle of the... More

The River Inn is fine if you set your expectations to a barely 3 star hotel. The location is ok (near the Kennedy Center and Georgetown), the staff is friendly (if not a bit inept) and the price is right. The big sticking point is the room itself. They are like studio apartments (full kitchen included) that need a renovation.... More

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear the hotel did not meet your expectations. We are a little surprised you found our location as just ok, as most of our guests speak highly of our location here in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood. We apologize if the room did not meet your expectations as well. Indeed, we understand... More

Reasonably priced hotel near Foggy Bottom/George Washington University. Free internet access. Only drawback is that restaurant appears to be frequently booked for private parties (2 out of 3 nights while I was there), leaving no in-hotel alternative other than room service or walks to mediocre restaurants 2-3 blocks away. Parking is valet only. More

We are sorry to hear you were unable to experience our in-house restaurant, Dish. Since we are in close proximity to the Kennedy Center, Dish is often booked with pre-show dinner guests, especially when a popular show is playing. However it is rare that it becomes completely booked. We hope this does not deter you from returning to us. More

I am hesitant to spread the word, for fear I wont be able to get a reservation when I want one! We love this small hotel for the warmth of its staff and cozy rooms. The neighborhood is safe, pleasant and convenient! Its a great find and bargain! Enjoy! More

Thank you so much for your kind words! We are extremely happy we are your place. We take great pride on our customer service and love the fact that we are not too large where we can’t remember our guests’ names and faces. Come back soon and thank you once again. More

The River Inn is located 2 blocks from the metro and GW Hospital/University on a very quiet side street. Our room was spacious with a full kitchen and comfortable sitting area. The staff at the front desk were very friendly. The rooms were a bit dated. But that being said, this would be a great place to stay if you... More

This is a charming small hotel in a quiet neighborhood that is within walking distance of the Watergate and many good restaurants. The staff are very pleasant and helpful (I was here with a seriously handicapped person who required and got lots of assistance). The dining room has good food, but is small and noisy. I would be nice to... More

Making your stay as relaxing and worry free is very important to us. We are happy to hear how we were able to assist you and your friend during your stay with us. However, we are sorry you found our restaurant, Dish+drinks, a little too noisy, but we are glad you managed to enjoy the other restaurants near the Watergate... More

Great space; great location on a quiet residential street; helpful staff; excellent on-site resturant. Oh, and it's pet friendly (for a fee). My wife and I and our two little dogs look forward to staying there again. More

We love pets here! There’s even a dog park located behind the hotel a block down where your pet can also meet the locals (dogs that is). Thank you for describing us as a hidden gem! It makes us blush! We hope you choose us the next time you visit Washington DC. More
