We stayed at the Washington Plaza July 4th week. Our first time to DC. Didn't know what to expect. The hotel is nice and clean. The only sign of age was in the bath but, a chipped tile here and there isn't a reason to complain. The Staff was friendly and helpful. The Washington Plaza Hotel is conveniently located in DC, just three blocks from the McPherson Square METRO station, making getting to and from Reagan National airport quick and cheap wihtout changing lines. I was traveling for business and there was not a lot of availability for that evening in DC. The Washington Plaza was clean and in a convenient location. The hotel was pretty decent. Rooms are very spacious and clean, but slightly outdated, with pretty small beds as well. The receptionist in the check-in had an attitude problem even though we were friendly and polite! Hotel is in a very good location, especially if you are after sightseeing. Would consider coming back to the hotel, but I would hesitate. more

My boyfriend and I stayed here 08.24.09 - 08.31.09 and we were surprised by the "small stuff” the soaps and shampoos where from Bath and Body Works, the pools towels were huge and absorbent, plus we were able to take them back to the room, feather down body pillows. Lovely Hotel, clean, spotless and friendly especially the porters, always helpful. The barman was lovely too nothing was too much trouble. Location was great - 1 mile walk to Washington Monument and Smithsonian museums. 1-1/2 blocks to Metro. Some good restaurants nearby. Pool was a welcome relief each hot summer day, but they did run out of pool towels 2 out of 3 days at 6:30pm.
