Avoid this hotel if possible. Small, noise, no privacy--the next building is like in 20 feet, so I had to close the shades all the time. Plus, customer service is horrible-- that young woman was rude to me and made me wait a long time. Breakfast is poor. Overall, you know you can spend your money much better than staying... more

Dear guest, On behalf of the hotel I would like to apologize for your experience with us. We try to always ensure our guests are promptly attended to and our staff treats them as they would guests in their own home with respect and in a friendly manner. I am sorry the breakfast was not what you had anticipated. I...

This is a comfortable well appointed small hotel with excellent staff and a friendly atmosphere. We had to extend our stay at the Normandy due to a blizzard. Luckily for us we were well looked after and very comfortable. This hotel offers excellent value for money. If you are using the subway you do need to be prepared for a... more

Dear guest, On behalf of The Normandy thank you for your feedback especially since your stay was during a time that could have been very difficult for the hotel. We are delighted that you were comfortable even though for a short time forced to stay indoors due to the heavy snowfall. We pride ourselves on the attentive and genuine nature...

My wife and I spent two nights in this fantastic hotel. We were originally concerned about the distance to the downtown but found that it was situated in a good area for shopping and restaurans. We walked to Georgetown (approx. 20 min), and it was less than a 10-min. walk to the Metro Red Line. The room was immaculately clean,... more

Thank you everyone for your advice. It made for a great stay! Yes, this is an inexpensive hotel that strives for elegance and excellence! The desk staff is very professional, the lobby is roomy and lovely, the hotel is exceptionally quiet, and the rooms and bathrooms smart and up-to-date. The rooms are not large and lack dresser space, some of... more

The old adage don't always belive what you read/hear. I read some not so nice things about the Normandy & was nervous to stay here, but boy I am glad I did. This was a GREAT FIND! The rooms were clean, comfortable bed and plenty of pillows, you could open window for fresh air, quality bath products, coffee/ espresso machine... more

The first night they had the reservation wrong, and they were unapologetic. Note: Based on my concerns from reviews on this site and other, I had emailed the manager a few weeks beforehand to ensure that the accommodations would be correct, but he never responded. That said, by Day 2, I was in a better room: beautiful bathroom and bed,... more

What a find! Great location, wonderful room, fantastic price (from Hotwire). The hotel had a very European feel. I loved the expansive, multi-room lobby--I felt like I was in someone’s fancy home! This was also the quietest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I heard nothing from the street (well, it helped that I was in the back) or other rooms.... more

A small hotel that takes its every guest's wish into consideration. They have wine and cheese for free on Tuesdays and provide fresh baked cookies everyday. It is a place that makes you feel as though you are a regular; or better, family. more
