The Embassy Suites was "home" for four nights and met our needs very well. The Metro station is just downstairs, which was convenient for getting anywhere. The Chevy Chase Pavillion offers shopping opportunities (Stein Mart right across from the lobby), and the area has even more shopping. We loved the Embassy Suites at Chevy Chase Pavilion. The hotel was clean and people at the front desk were very helpful. When traveling with our children a free breakfast is a must. I would highly recommend this hotel to save $ over staying downtown for tourism. The Metro station subway is below the building, doesn't get any easier than that. 1/2 hour to 40 minutes and your on the National Mall.
